Can somebody guide me in the correct direction please:
My wife and me (Germans and both over 50) will arrive from Germany with Non-Immigrant Visa (O) Retirement and will do the process of extension of stay for one year. (I have the account with 800K).
We plan that my wife will apply for extension of stay for one year as a "trailing spouse".
The immigration office will be in Hua Hin.
1. Question:
We have our marriage certificate legalized by Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and confirmed by Thai embassy Copenhagen. Will this be accepted or has it be confirmed in an office in Bangkok?
1.1
The marriage certificate is also written in English - does it need to be translated in Thai? I read that English is sufficient.
2.
Can we apply at the same time? Or do I have to get my extension of stay first and then my wife can apply?
3.
When we arrive with the Non Immigration O visa, when will be the time to apply for the extension of stay?
4.
At the moment we are in Hua Hin with TR 60 + 30 days until end of April (we have to leave for 1 month to Germany and from there we would apply the Non-Immigrant Visa (O) as explained before), does it make sense to convert the actual visa to an in country Non Immigrant visa and apply at this time for the extension of stay with multiples entry (so we can be out for one month as planed) and not when we come back end of May? The 800K will be about the 25.2. in the account.
I guess, do it this time may be to complicated and to “rushy”.
Thanks for the support – this FB group/Admins is/are great!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A couple from Germany, both over 50 years old, is seeking guidance about the extension of their Non-Immigrant Visa (O) due to retirement in Hua Hin, Thailand. The wife intends to apply for an extension as a 'trailing spouse'. They have questions regarding the acceptance of their legalized marriage certificate, the need for a Thai translation, whether they can apply simultaneously for extensions, timeline for their application after arriving in Thailand, and whether it's advisable to convert their current TR visa to a Non-Immigrant visa while in Thailand.

I think the O/P has enough info to make a decision as to their course of action at this point. If they want it opened back up message an admin/mod team member
By your post you will have 90 day non-o based on retirement when you arrive and spouse will be non-o based on being married to you. (Must be done before you arrive, otherwise the spouse will have to leave and reenter)
I am in phuket and each office can have different rules, but we were able to do our one year extensions at the same time. Required only a photo copy of our marriage certificate, not translated or notarized.
It was actually very simple except for many copies needed of:
Passport pages- EXTRAS of husbands to attach to her file.
Tm30
Current bank statement- do a transaction that day and update
They also made me copy all pages of my bank book
Bank letter no more than 7 days old
Stamped and picked up the next day, 1900b each.
You may need to go to the local immigration and ask to be sure.
2. Best option is to apply for 1 of you in Germany for the Non Immigrant O visa based on being ovr 50 years of age and for the partner the Non Immigrant O visa based on being dependent of a foreigner with a long stay
