No official limit; you can do it until you can't.

The immigration officer will, ultimately.

If you've been here 4 months, six months, or longer on nothing but visa-exempt entries, just going out then straight back in, however, then the likelihood of an immigration officer viewing your history as "extensive" goes up several notches.

It depends on whoevers dealing with you.

Technically they can insist on 20K B in cash. They may do exactly that.

However, last year I was pulled aside at the airport and asked for the Three Proofs, and a copy of my Thai bank book was accepted. (I had already had to show it in KL to get the visa in the first place).

Your steps for increasing the chances of not being denied seem good enough, and you have an onward ticket so that should be good enough.

I'd say you'll be fine, notwithstanding a questioning by Imm officers. However, it is still up to the Imm officer dealing with you.

Only other thing I can suggest is to avoid Suvarnabhumi airport if possible.

This is why I always just physically go into immigration and do mine there.

Ima continue doing so until they get their shit together and make it work.

All you can really do is have the three proofs of finances (ideally 20K Baht in cash, though officers have been known to accept bank statements), of onward flight ticket, and of accommodation.

That and a story prepared on what you've been doing here these past six months.

Officially, no limit on *air* entries (land entries are officially limited to 2 per calendar year), but if you've been here since January on out-then-straight-back-in visa-exemptions, you're at the point where you have a fair to high likelihood of being pulled aside and questioned on what you're doing here.

Telling the truth (more or less), but still a red flag as far as the meow meow is concerned. If hes relying on serial visa-exemptions, its only a matter of time before he gets pulled aside at the airport and told "Last Time", or even denied entry.

Yep. Your boss just seems determined to show even more definitively why she'd be an awful, toxic person to work for, by outright lying to you like that and trying to menace you. She knows damn well that the initial visa cannot be cancelled, only the extension. If she says otherwise (that she honestly thought otherwise) I'll call her a liar to her face. Shes experienced in the field of employing foreigners, theres no way she doesnt know.

The only response she deserves is to be told to shut the fuck up & go play on a busy road.

As Shaughn said, whilst there is no *official* 6-month rule, as in, no stated, publicly-viewable one, each immigration department at each entry point will have its own internal rules and guidance issued to trainees.

It sounds like DMK *may* have an internal rule or more like an internal *guidance* (not a Thai law) that over 6 months here on tourist stays should attract more scrutiny.
