I am in Thailand on visa exemption that I already extended a week ago.
I have to leave Thailand mid June.
I already got a 60 day tourist visa last year, and another one in march.
I came in by bus from Laos 2 times this year.
Once on visa exempt in January, then tourist visa in march.
Is it correct that now I have to enter Thailand by plane?
And another tourist visa will probably not be approved since this would be the third one in 9 months?
I am planning on starting Thai Language school in 3 months.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a visa exemption in Thailand and has previously utilized both visa exemptions and tourist visas. They are considering re-entering Thailand and are concerned about being able to obtain another tourist visa, given their recent immigration history. Comments suggest that since the user has entered Thailand multiple times, especially with a history of short stays on tourist visas, re-entry might lead to questioning by immigration. It is advised to have proof of funds, onward travel, and accommodations ready to present if questioned.
After this entry, you'll have been here over 6 months on tourist visas and out-then-back-in visa-exempt entries.
That's the point where you have a fair likelihood (not to say this definitely *will* happen, its all down to the immigration officer working with you) of being questioned about what you're doing here, and potentially either denied or told "last time".
All you can really do is have the three proofs of finances (ideally 20K Baht in cash, though officers have been known to accept bank statements), of onward flight ticket, and of accommodation.
That and a story prepared on what you've been doing here these past six months.
You can enter 2 times per year at a land border VISA EXEMPT (no visa). If you entered once visa exempt and once with a tourist visa, then you have not entered 2 times using visa exempt. You can still enter 1 time at a land border visa exempt and unlimited times with a visa. If you leave and return by air, given your history, I would expect you to have problems at the airport.
