Exactly. The MFA make this clear on their website and in the interview a senior staff member did at the FCCT. The MFA issue the visa but it is the Department of the Interior though their Immigrstion Department have final say overcentry and extension.

Anonymous participant 494 I crossed on the way to Siem Reap in 2002 and said never again. It was like I imagined the Wild West to be. :-). I did not have to pay any tea money either side but it was pressed for. My Thai friend had to or she was not getting into Cambodia. As for DTV apart from this story there was a post in this group a few months ago where the holder could not enter at Poipet. They were sent back to SR for a flight.

Poipet border has been notorious for decades and one to avoid for any entry.

Anonymous participant If you leave and come back in there will be no issue at entry. At least I have never heard of anyone ever pulled about it at entry points.

I think all first time after an entry has to be in person. At least that is what Immigration told my agent here in Chiang Mai last week. I have just done 90 day in CM. I am going to Vietnam soon. My 90 day will start upon return and my next report will have to be done in person. That is why I asked agent to enquire.

Nothing to worry about. Entry ports do not check up on 90 days reports leaving or entering. At least I have never heard it happening. Immigration Offices might at extension or renewal. Some guys on retirement O do not bother doing 90 days reports and pay the fine once a year when renewing :-)

So you got it at one land border. It is not given out to everyone who enters Thailand on a long term visa at every port of entry.

I had to look further into it. I think some land borders do it and this is what agent told me

Anonymous participant Its like many things in Thailand - location dependent and the only constant is inconsistency :-)

Are there printers in every single immigration both at Swampy? If not in each booth does the IO leave his booth to go to the central printer to get this slip for every long term visa holder entering 🙂 🙂 Walter Mitty is alive and well
