Anonymous participant 979 I have come in twice recently and never been asked for it - I pointed to my phone and asked if they wanted to see TDAC. Each time the IO just pointed at the screen. It pops up after the passport is scanned. Never printed it out but had it open on my phone. The people around me did not have it printed out either.
Do you not have to tell HMRC you are no longer a UK Tax Resident? It is a long time ago but I left in 1999 and did not tell them. Went back in 2000 and I got an earful for not telling them - still got a rebate. I left in 2002 again and told them by completing a form and never been a tax president in UK since.
There was no TM6 in February so you are good to go. Nothing to worry about. Fill in the TM6 replacement ie the TDAC up to 72 hours before return. No need to fill in departure info. Enjoy Vietnam.
Anonymous participant At the moment immigration is not checking if you have attended classes or not. Those leaving and re-entering the country are not being asked to prove further classes booked. If you wanted to extend in country at an immigration office you would have to prove course bookings. The current modus operandi is to leave and re-enter for further 180 days stamps. Nobody knows if they will start checking future course bookings but right now they are not. Deal with the situation if it arises but as of now no indication it will.
