What are the key steps and requirements for my 180-day stay in Thailand with a DTV visa?

Hey awesome people. Got my DTV thanks to this group. Just looking for confirmation that I got my head screwed on properly about some things.

1) 1st day of me landing in Thailand - that's Day 01 of 180, correct?

2) Whenever I reside in a new place, TM30 must be reported by the landlord, correct?

3) Day 90, I must report 90-day reporting - first time must be in-person, correct?

4) If I leave before Day 180, the second Day 90 reporting is NOT required, correct?

5) When I return, my 180 days will be reset... then my next Day 90 reporting must be in-person again, correct?

Thanks everyone!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeks confirmation on important immigration rules after obtaining their DTV visa for Thailand. They ask about the start of their 180-day stay, TM30 report obligations by landlords, requirements for 90-day reporting, and conditions on leaving Thailand before the end of their 180 days. Community responses confirm most queries and provide additional insights, including reporting windows and the necessity of landlord cooperation.

Thanks guys. Follow up question - is the landlord legally obligated to provide the TM30 when requested? When renting a house.

What would I be expected to receive? and who do I report to? 🙏🙏🙇

Anonymous participant Yes the landlord is legally obliged to register you. Depending on location I have had a paper based form for my passport or just a digital pic of the completed report. These have been provided by agent.

thank you 🙏

Anonymous participant Its like many things in Thailand - location dependent and the only constant is inconsistency :-)

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

You will get a slip in your passport when you enter and there is the date stated when you have to do your first 90 days. I just got it 2 weeks ago

@Greg *******
I crossed the Savannakhet - Mukdahan border and the slip is in thai letters. I was the only farang for miles around. I guess now it is primarily for the Laotians, otherwise why is it in thai letters
Greg ********
@Tim **********
So you got it at one land border. It is not given out to everyone who enters Thailand on a long term visa at every port of entry.

You get a slip when doing your first 90 days report in person or when renewing it. Not when crossing most borders.

EDIT: Some old school land border may still give it as it seems to be the case for you.

Is there a printer in every immigration booth at BKK? 🙂 :-)

@Greg *******
Sounds like there is at least one per shared booth indeed... 😁

@Greg *****
Exactly - unless this is something completely new I have never known anyone get a slip about 90 day when entering Thailand

There is no slip put in any passport about when you have to do 90 day report upon entry. When you have completed a 90 day report you get a piece of paper and it shows when next is due

@Greg *******
If you have a visa that lasts longer than 90 days, you will get this slip stapled into your passport. It reminds you and warns you do do the 90 days otherwise I have to pay a fine of 5000 THB and on top 200 baht per day. It's signed by the officer. I googled it and its not new. They are doing it for years

I have been on visas longer than 90 days for the last 8 years. I must have travelled 30+ times in and out of the country at least in that time. Not once have I had any form given at an entry point. So you Googled it and have no experience yourself!!!!! Sorry you are wrong.

@Greg *******
Look, I have it in my passport. So how can you say it doesn't exist? It's right in front of me, but I don't want to take a photo of it because it was signed directly by the officer. I don't want to post it on the internet.I googled it because you said it doesn't exist and I just wanted to see if it's a brand new thing or if it's been around for a while and it has been around for years

@Tim **********
you're full of 💩 🤣🤣

In and out alot never ever has one country muchless thailand stapled a dang thing in my passport.

And you say you have it in front of you but won't shoe as it has some random IO signature on it like that is somehow something that can't be shown or simply blacked out 🤣
Greg ********
@Jeremy ********
I had to look further into it. I think some land borders do it and this is what agent told me
Greg ********
@Jeremy ********
Are there printers in every single immigration both at Swampy? If not in each booth does the IO leave his booth to go to the central printer to get this slip for every long term visa holder entering 🙂 🙂 Walter Mitty is alive and well

@Tim **********
You are the only person I have ever heard say they got one of those upon entering. Pat yourself on the back for being unique. Next time someone with the DTV in this group asks about 90 day reporting please point out to them the slip they had upon entering.

@Tim **********
wtf slip are you talking about?? Never have they put a slip in my.passport 🤔🤣
Greg ********
@Jeremy ********
He argues he got one and he Googles it has been around for some time.
Greg ********
3) you can do 14 days before the 90 or up to 7 days after. You have a window. It does not have to be exactly on day 90
Andi ***********
1,2,4,5 YES! 3 mostly yes but some have reported of being able to do it online first time .
