You are the only person I have ever heard say they got one of those upon entering. Pat yourself on the back for being unique. Next time someone with the DTV in this group asks about 90 day reporting please point out to them the slip they had upon entering.

Yes, it is quite difficult getting a bank account on a DTV or any tourist visa. Things have tightened up considerably recently.

Yes it seems to be embassy dependent and I suspect they are tightening up currently. Some are having the funds supplied for them as a paid service.

I have been on visas longer than 90 days for the last 8 years. I must have travelled 30+ times in and out of the country at least in that time. Not once have I had any form given at an entry point. So you Googled it and have no experience yourself!!!!! Sorry you are wrong.

Anonymous participant Wow - first time I have heard that mentioned.

DTV rejected and they gave him a METV (Multi Entry Tourist Visa) with 6 months validity. There has been a few postings of this happening in Japan but first one I have seen in Laos. It is usually down when Embassy assesses the soft power could be done on a 6 month METV. Often a short cookery course or a few medical appointments.
