You will need access to a BKK bank ATM to get login info the first time you install the app on a new phone.

So don't do it unless you have someone here with your ATM card who can do it for you.

I did mine in HK. Completely online. You have to be in HK to apply, but you can leave as soon as you've sent the application (or at least I left and got my visa while in Vietnam)

I did not ask them, but I did go to Macao and then to Vietnam during the process. I was in Vietnam when I got the visa and flew to BKK the next day.

Probably easier and less illegal to drive to a second hand market where you live and sell all of it to one of the vendors.

You won't get nearly as much for it, but you won't risk your neighbors calling immigration on you.
