You can go on island hopping tours, scuba diving, hire a guide with a car to take you around the island and show you the sights. You can go on an ATV adventure in the jungle, eat food from all over the world near Bangla road, party, visit tourist attractions in Patong, stay in a bungalow near Kamala beach or Ra Wai beach.

I don't have kids, so I can't say anything about that. But most people in PH spela English, and there's a huge American expat community, so Immsurw they have "better" schools over there, since English speakers are so common.

Look into the visa rules there (up to 3 years per entry) and you might reconsider your options.
