Hi not long ago I asked about mae sai border run, thank you all for your answers! One more questions, my 10 month old son holds a thai passport, would I be able to do the border run with him or will I need to go alone?
Hi, planning my first mae sai border run and have a question that stays unanswered... Do I need an evisa to enter myanmar ? Not planning to stay there at all, just wondering as I can't find anything online beside the evisa. If it matters i hold a swiss passport.
Hello, I need to make a Mae Sai border run this month. I know they can ask you for funds in cash but can anyone who has gone recently tell me if they do actually ask you? I hate carrying around large amounts of cash if not necessary. Thanks!
I recently cancelled my ED visa, then went to Mae Sai to get an exempt stamp. In the meantime I've applied for Elite, but I only have a week left on my stamp.
If I were to go back to Mae Sai again, right after having been there, could that be an issue? It's very much back to back. The earlier trip was my one and only true land entry. (Aside from a land entry that was done on a re-entry permit with an ED visa in January, which I think doesn't count - I'm assuming the 2 rule only applies to exempt entries.)
Sorry for so many posts, im trying to figure out the easiest way to get time until the Elite comes.
Looking to do a second Mae Sai Border Run this Sunday. Seeking some feedback and experience.
1. March - visited Phuket via flight for a short stay and left to Cambodia.
2. May 7 - flew into Chiang Mai (30 days stamp)
3. June 6 - first border run at Mae Sai (30 days)
4. July 5 - extended at Chiang Mai immigration (30 days)
Aware that there are two border crossings permitted per year. I don’t plan on staying in Thailand for too long. Currently at a retreat and plan to “check out” and leave around Aug 20th. If I knew my stay would be this long intially, would’ve just applied for a proper visa at Thai embassy.
What can I prepare for to minimize any issues at the second border crossing come this Sunday?
Update on Mae Sai border run. Just did it today and it was a breeze. 2nd one. Back to back. No remarks or anything. As long as you haven’t done two land border runs in 2019 already, you should be fine.
Anyone know how much time we need for the Mae Sai run to go out and come back in? I have around 1-1.5 hrs between b uses. Is that enough time? or should I change my schedule to allow for more time while I still can?
Please excuse my question, to clarify, is 20,000 cash requirement the same regardless whether you're doing a land crossing or airport? And regardless whether you have visa.
So we are doing our border run to Mae Sai as a family, all of us holding METV so we will need to show 40,000 for our family right? Many thanks
