Hey there! Visa expires Sunday. Was wondering if we can drive to Mae Sai and get an extension? Has anyone done it lately? I’m a US passport holder.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user asks if they can drive to Mae Sai for a visa extension, noting their visa expires soon. Commenters suggest that as a US passport holder, they can cross the border at Mae Sai for a 30-day reentry, indicating it's a common option for those in Chiang Mai.

As you live in Chiang Mai ...it is the closest border to cross and reenter. You will get 30 days upon reentry.
