Can I return to Mae Sai for an exempt stamp right after my previous entry?

I recently cancelled my ED visa, then went to Mae Sai to get an exempt stamp. In the meantime I've applied for Elite, but I only have a week left on my stamp.

If I were to go back to Mae Sai again, right after having been there, could that be an issue? It's very much back to back. The earlier trip was my one and only true land entry. (Aside from a land entry that was done on a re-entry permit with an ED visa in January, which I think doesn't count - I'm assuming the 2 rule only applies to exempt entries.)

Sorry for so many posts, im trying to figure out the easiest way to get time until the Elite comes.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about returning to Mae Sai shortly after canceling their ED visa and obtaining an exempt stamp. They are applying for an Elite visa and are unsure if a back-to-back land entry may pose issues, particularly since they wish to extend their stay in Thailand until the new visa is processed. Comments suggest assessing personal time limits for leaving Thailand and clarify that the "two land entries only" rule might no longer apply.

and I think the O/P has their answers. Remember it's the thai VISA advice group, not the "come hang out in Da Nang bro come visit me in KL bruv" group. :)

The cost to fly there is high right now, so i ruled it out. Mothers day or something..

Did you extend the 30 day stamp already? Also, afaik the "2 land entries only" rule wasn't active no more. In any case, it would only apply to entries without a visa (aka, you've only done 1)

ok that might be what i do

You still got one unused tho, if you come by land with a valid visa it wouldn't count. It's only for the 30 day visa waiver stamp

it is hard to tell what is better, the question seems to me: how long can you handle and afford to leave Thailand? if it is only minutes, do the border run, if you can handle almost 2 days do the visa run.

right, im just giving extra background info as to why...

Savanakhet has walk in service, no appointment needed. Take your calendar and start planning what you like. we can not help you with moving condo and your funds or what ever reasons you come up with to ask what is the best way to stay inside Thailand.

Go where? I guess what I'm saying is that it's pricey to leave the country right now. Mothers day is driving up airfare or something. Plus hotels.. I can't go to Vientiane for an SETV because my appointment is for an ED, which im going to cancel.

Go today, apply tomorrow, pick up Friday 9 Aug or plan some other days, time enough.

I have to leave by August 14 and I have to be back to move into a new condo on August 20, thats one of the problems.

Plus, the proper visa run is a flight, a van, a taxi, a hotel, etc.. it adds up.
