TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai embassy in Laos requires applicants to certify their bank statements at the embassy. It's important to visit the embassy in person for this process and to ask for an interview appointment. Processing time for visas is generally a minimum of two weeks, and applicants must remain in Laos while their visa is being processed. Traveling to Thailand during this period could lead to visa denial.

You are meant to stay in the country you applied while you visa is being processed. If they look through your passport at interview and see Thai stamps you are in danger of visa rejection.

Laos has a minimum of two weeks processing according to recent posts. And you can't go to Thailand until your visa is confirmed (that's something they would probably check during the interview and your application may be denied for that reason).

print your bank statements or whatever you got, then visit the embassy personally and ask them for an interview appointment. Same as you did when you paid the visa application fee. You must however stay in Laos during the processing period
