I have read online that I can get a visa based on Marriage (Non O if I am not wrong), and that if I decide to work in Thailand, the company hiring me does not have to sponsor a NON B visa anymore, just the work permit.
Is that correct?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, as a foreigner married to a Thai citizen, you can obtain a Non-O visa. This visa allows you to work in Thailand without needing your employer to sponsor a Non-B visa; you only need a work permit. However, you must be legally married in Thailand to qualify for this visa.

That is correct. A person on a one year extension of stay based on marriage can legally work in Thailand. As a female foreigner married to a Thai male, there is no income requirements either, and acquiring PR/Citizenship is much easier for you as well.
