Okay everyone! Here is the news you've been waiting for, and possibly not hoping for.

As of today, June 1st, if you enter Thailand with the intention of using the visa exempt program, you will receive the normal 30 day visa exempt stamp. This means the new program has NOT started yet, despite the headlines.

As Monday is a national holiday and the weekend has begun, there's very little chance of any changes before Tuesday of next week.

Do not make plans that depend on any of the new programs as we do not know when they will take effect.

The Prime Minister's office made a post on Friday that stated the programs would come into effect at the end of June or early July, and that's the most recent information we have. If we learn anything new we will let you know ASAP. The link to that is here: [members only]

Just to clarify as a Canadian, a Tourist Visa allows 60 days which can be extended for another 30 days for a fee then you can leave the country and re-enter by either land or air under the Visa Exempt program which allows for 30 days plus it can be extended for another 30 days....which would take care of winter...

Hey y’all!

I have a question I was hoping others could help with, searching online has given me different responses 😄

I entered Thailand with the visa exempt program (before October of this year, so 30 days was granted). I extended for another 30 days at a immagrwrion office (1900 bhat, easy peasy).

Am I allowed to extend for a second time via the immigration office? It has said during online searches that you are only allowed one 30 day extension on some sites and two 30 extensions on other sites.

How many times is someone on a 30 day entry exempt visa allowed to extend at the immigration office?

Thank you for your assistance 😊☯️
