How many times can I extend a visa exempt entry in Thailand at the immigration office?

Hey y’all!

I have a question I was hoping others could help with, searching online has given me different responses 😄

I entered Thailand with the visa exempt program (before October of this year, so 30 days was granted). I extended for another 30 days at a immagrwrion office (1900 bhat, easy peasy).

Am I allowed to extend for a second time via the immigration office? It has said during online searches that you are only allowed one 30 day extension on some sites and two 30 extensions on other sites.

How many times is someone on a 30 day entry exempt visa allowed to extend at the immigration office?

Thank you for your assistance 😊☯️

TLDR : Answer Summary
A person entering Thailand under the visa exempt program is allowed one 30-day extension at an immigration office. After utilizing this extension, they cannot extend again unless they exit Thailand and re-enter to receive a new visa exempt entry stamp.

you can get ONE 30 day extension on a visa exempt entry or a tourist visa entry.

So what that means is IF you already took your one 30 day extension you're done.

You either fly out and back in or go to a land border stamp out of thailand, stamp in and out of another country and then stamp right back into thailand to get a NEW visa exempt entry stamp (which will be for 45 days) and you can get one 30 day extension on that as well.

… then you exit and do it again if you need longer. Only 2 land crossings a year allowed.
