TLDR : Answer Summary
Initially, travelers can enter Thailand without a visa for up to 45 days under the visa exempt program. This can be extended once for an additional 30 days at an immigration office, totaling 75 days. Travelers should ensure they are aware of the specific terms regarding quarantine adjustments and seek proper extensions as necessary.

I believe you can get a 60 day extension

only if the COVID extensions are available. They end March 30.

You're a little mixed up.

There is no tourist visa for thailand that is 30 days. What you are talking about is showing up here without having bought any visa and comin' in for free on the visa exempt program. They changed it and you now get stamped in for 45 days (15 days more to cover the time in quarantine) AND you can get one extension for 30 more days for 1900baht at the immigration office giving you 75 days total in country.
