Hi I am intending to visit Thailand again for @ 6 months starting in October. I am retired (so cant get the new nomad visa) will travel with my Thai wife of many years. Last year I went on a Tourist visa, extended it for 30 days, they got a family visa then popped over to Laos for a day.

To simplify matters this year plan to apply for a Multiple Entry Tourist visa - have been assured that this lets you enter the country for 3 x of 60 days in a 6 months period - so idea being arrive after 60 days go to Laos returning the same day which will also be day one of the second 60 days, at the end of which repeating this process - so total of 177 days in Thailand. My question is step 3 of the Multiple entry application asks for date of arrival (okay) BUT then asks date of departure is this the 60th day ie when I go in/out to get my next entry on my visa OR is it the 157th day?

Thanks to those who enlightened me as to what the METV and SETV are. I see that fir tge METV you have to provide proof evidence of residence in country you are applying from. What woukd they look for. I am retired and live with my daughter. I gave her my property so I have nothing in my name. I have a bank account, pension, car insurance and a utility bill in my name at my dsughter's house. Would this be sufficient?

Hi Everyone,

My name is Dirk, 77 years, retired Belgian National, residing in Bangkok since many years.

I just came into this group and hope to enjoy the membership.

Allow me please to draw on your travel experiences and the conditions to fulfil when returning to Thailand after having passed some time abroad.

More precisely, does anyone know if, as a retired resident with a non-immigrant O visa, I have to present a health insurance certificate mentioning a minimum amount coverage on arrival at the airport?

I thank you in advance for the help and advice you would send me.

Cheers,

Dirk

Not often I ask, but...have the recent immigration rule ‘changes’ made any allowance to 90 day reporting (retire’d)? Cheers...
