Retired USA Expats: If you have a foreign address on file with the SSA, I hope you've received the yearly Form 7162, or will receive it soon. I got mine yesterday. I didn't receive one last year, was ignorant of the form, and got a shock when my monthly payment didn't show up in my Thai bank account. The Manila office graciously helped me to get back in good standing, but it took over 2 weeks for the deposit to hit my account, causing a bit of indigestion over the thought of having to renew my non-O, and start the proof of 12 monthly overseas deposits into my account all over again. If you're retired and receiving your SS benefit, and have your address registered here (or anywhere outside the USA), be sure to fill out and return your form 7162. ๐Ÿ™

Reading about a successful application for LTR resident visa. I am in the review process for a non O visa for retired .

I seem to meet the qualifications for the LTR and it seems preferable.

Wondering best way to proceed?

Hi. Quick advice please.

I have a Non-O 12 month visa. In the past I have done trailing spouse but I wasnโ€™t in Thailand during my husbands extension this year so had to start again.

Question: does it matter when I go for trailing spouse extension? I.e. my non-O with 90 day stamps actually does work for me right up to his next OA renewal in March2023 (my Non-O is valid til June 2023). So can I wait until March when he renews and THEN get trailing spouse?

Figured if that works then no point spending the 1900 plus multi reentry for this next few months.

Reason for needing trailing spouse is my husband and I live here (both retired) and I generally do not leave every 90 days. I donโ€™t want to miss the chance to have trailing spouse and then have to go to home country to start a non O again at some point in the future.

Thank you in advance. ๐Ÿ™

Hi I have received my non O visa and can apply for my O A on the 1st October does anyone know how long after lodging I will receive it? Also once I have it my husband wants to get his O A based on trailing spouse. Does he need to leave the country to do this and does he have to return to Oz or can it be done in any other country? We are retired and I have had $800000 baht in the bank for 2 months. He is on his first tourist extension right now
