TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among recent comments is that TINs and tax clearance receipts are not currently required for renewing Non O visas for retired expats in Thailand. Several users have successfully renewed their visas without these documents, indicating that the previous concerns might be unfounded or based on misinformation.

Impossible to link the requirements as you can live quite legally in Thailand without a TIN or ever filing a tax return.

Nope. The usual internet bs. Buddy of mine got extension this morning, nothing said. Nothing to do with immigration

Why would there be? Plenty of people will legitimately have absolutely no requirement to get a TIN or file a tax return

Really you have a Thai Bank account.. β“πŸ€”

This became a matter of CRS compliance in some countries to have and operate a bank account.

Getting a TIN and filing a tax return are two very different things πŸ‘

are you such a fuckwit that you cannot read Thai tax law for yourself? The Revenue Department publishes the tax law in English. You have no idea if I am an international tax professional or not. You have no idea if I studied law or not. Your statements are demonstrably incorrect. Again use your brain and read the tax law for yourself.

I have.. So please go ahead and quote the relevant sections then if you like ❓

The fact you are posturing and swearing at people rather than actually citing from the tax codes... Leads me to believe you not a lawyer, never studied law and the fact you use a term like "demonstrably" suggests you are a blagger

But please do ahead and cite those sections please 🀦

just because you’re tax resident it doesn’t automatically follow that you require a TIN.

you really are a special kind of stupid. You continue to quote bullshit websites. Quote Thai tax law as a source. Go to the Revenue Code and educate yourself.

it’s badly written and misleading. Instead for a source use the actual tax law. Thai Revenue Department website and go to Tax Payer Identification.

doesn't it ❓.. As mentioned from personal experience in other countries under CRS compliance they wanted tax number under threat of closing your bank account...

Which is consistent with what this says πŸ‘‡..
