Hoping this is okay to ask on this page. Who are people recommending for "medical insurance" for six month stay in Thailand? I am a Canadian citizen. So many companies and such a huge price difference in so many quotes. Thanks!
Answer summary
A Canadian citizen inquiring about medical insurance options for a six-month stay in Thailand received various recommendations. Some suggested using Canadian travel insurance companies like Pacific Blue Cross, while others recommended switching to Thai companies like Axa or Luma. Additionally, it was noted that Canadian companies might be more suitable based on personal health conditions and that speaking to an insurance broker, like ExpatInsure, could be beneficial.

James Allen travel insurance by definition of the contracts covers the "trips" including flights etc. "travel medical" covers hospital costs in Thailand for accidents and illness and the like. I don't need to insure "My trip" via the "travel insurance" I need to have travel medical. Prices are ranging from $100-$400 per month depending on deductible, amount covered and "what" they cover. I love this forum because many people are offering particular options that are great for everyone to see, including yourself. So thanks! p.s. During covid AXA (thailand insurance) was one policy that immigration officials recognized right away and was approved as a "covid" friendly policy that covered hospital stays as a result of illness from Covid and covid related hospital stays.
