Is it correct that if you have 2 million baths or more on your account in Thai bank then you have to pay taxes ?

How much is it about?

Hello, when filling out non O application retirement,in Australia and they ask for yearly income above and below certain US dollars, Aus pensions are well below 1st amount of us$25000 does it later ask for a bank statement of fund's? Of which I've no problems

Also as they ask for flight details of which I'm not sure, I am making sure I can get the visa, first beforehand ,

as from what I've been reading you have a 3 month window to engage,Kapuncap and regards to all Col 🙏🙏

My wife is a student at Bangkok International University. She has a non-immigrant ED Plus visa. From what I've read online, that should make me, her husband, eligible for a Non-Immigrant "O" (Dependent) visa. I asked the university but they weren't helpful and said I should check with Pathumthani Immigration Office to get details. I've called, but I only ever get Thai speakers, and emails and messages to them have remained unanswered. Can someone confirm if this is indeed possible, and perhaps kindly point me to where I can find the application steps and requirements?

Side question: I've scanned the boards here and see that proof of money in a bank account needs to STAY in the account for 2 months before it can be proof of financial stability, is that also true for this case? Thanks for any help.

My retirement visa was recently approved. For my extension of stay the next year I want to go the 65k monthly route. I have already started the 65k monthly transfers. How long do I need to maintain the initial 800k deposit in my account after my initially approved retirement visa?

For information only - not looking for advice but hoping it helps anyone going through the process - if nothing else to allieve anxiety.

Hubby and I completed our annual extension of stay Non O retirement visa application yesterday at Hua Hin immigration. We had one small hiccup that was probably due to communication breakdown with getting the bank documents needed. We remembered from last year Bangkok Bank required us to request our statement and the letters of account verification from the bank so we requested those last week and the statement was ready. We had to re-request the letter which they produced yesterday - but they issued both on a joint document as we have a joint account. Immigration checkin (the lovely ladies that sit downstairs to go over your paperwork and let you know if you need anything additional to what you have before going upstairs and taking a number to be seen) sent us back to the bank to get second original (only needed if you and your partner are applying - she was correct that we needed it and it probably saved us from being denied) No problem getting it and we headed back to immigration. We arrived just before 12 so sat during their lunch hour and as soon as they re-opened at 1 were processed rather quickly with no dramas at all. Staff there are extremely helpful. It was an easy process and we both got our new stamp within around 15-20 minutes of the interview start. Cost us a whopping 1900 baht each and was pretty stress free.

Hi all, I'm currently in Thailand on a guardian visa and want to switch to DTV. If i'm planning to fly out soon out of Thailand, to come back in 2 months time with hopefully a DTV visa, can I already start the application now while physically being in Thailand? I can provide all the necessary paperwork showing proof of residency abroad( (in my home country).

Dear experts

May I ask if the third requirement is for me to write an explanatory document myself, or for the company to provide a proof?

In May 2025, I intentionally let my O retirement visa lapse. I was and am overseas so there was no overstay. I intend to go to Thailand for one week.

Should I expect any issues at the airport? Can I request a 7 day stamp? I don't want the IO to think that I am attempting to stay without the " proper" visa.
