Hello, I want to spend my retirement in Thailand. I will travel to Thailand on a family visa for good and I want to get insurance there but unfortunately I have pre-existing conditions. I have already read a lot about this topic regarding pre-existing conditions but unfortunately I haven't found anything suitable. What kind of health insurance can you recommend that you have had good experiences with and is affordable? Please no answers that are not related to this topic.

# Seeking for advise regarding changing owners on a bike, how much of a must is it? Pros and cons. Blessings 🙏🏽

# *Editing - its complicated to issue certificate of residence with my visa, and I understood I must have it to change owners, so that's why I am asking about it.

After 7 years of multi entry non O family visa and just expired just noticed that multi is now not a option and only single entry non O is the new which is bad for me as I leave and come back home every month. Carry a British passport and for sure can come in on VOA but for how long and how many times before start questioning me and they clearly see the amount of times I've been in. Just been to see my local immigration and even they are bewildered as to why this visa has changed. Seem to be making it harder for young family's to live here. Anyone in same situation?

Called Doha where I have had my last 6-7 years and they was same didn’t know why it changed.

Hopefully this will change soon seems like trying push young people to the elite visa.

Hi everyone, would like to ask your advice please.

I’m a director at Dusit Thani Dusit Thani College in Bangkok Thailands first and largest institute dedicated to hospitality education and training.

Besides international bachelor degrees in hospitality and culinary arts we also offer 2 month intensive skills based short courses under our TOP program.

While this is more designed for young talents to get trained, gain experience and get a job, the program for Professional Chef includes among other aspects 72 hours of Thai Cuisine delivered over two months. We then can arrange for a 4 month internship at a luxury hotel for those who are interested. We actually do this all under an education visa which covers the entire duration of the program.

Case in point, we would like to also utilize our program to help those who want to apply for the DTV and need a program sponsor.

Does anyone know if our program could qualify? Attached are more details for reference.

Thank you all for the kind assistance 🙏

May I have questions about DTV with cooking class? Is there anyone having the experience of extending DTV with cooking class after 180 days? Does it require you to enroll in cooking class again for the next 180 days? Thank you.

Finally Approved!

Update on previous posts (Los Angeles):

Application #1: January 24, 2024

Rejected on February 15, 2025, for the following reason:

> "Please reapply visa, the name on the application is incorrect. Please fill in the name/middle name/surname/suffix or “-“ or spacing, no more no less, exactly as it appears on the travel document /passport."

When I filled out the next application, I discovered that the system had deleted my middle name before the final submission. Going back to the beginning and filling everything out again made the names stick.

Application #2: February 15, 2025

On February 20, they emailed requesting the following documents:

> —Business portfolio

I thought I had already given this in the form of a cover letter with links to much of my work. I just expanded it with a bit more commentary. I also included my entire CV, just to give them more background.

> —Business registration of the company

My main employer is a non-profit, so I just used their public records available on Propublica.org

> —Your recent tax return

I hadn't filed yet, so I rushed to file and paid more than I should have. I was a little worried about this because I only had the return form from TurboTax that said "unofficial copy" on it. I tried to get the "official transcript" through the IRS site, but it was a huge hassle. I had to order a new social security card to access it because I couldn't find my original social security card. I gave up and just used the "unofficial copy," and that worked out.

> —Guarantee letter from the company implies that you work remotely

I requested this from my employer. They just had to give a few sentences spelling out that I work remotely and do not have to report to an office. This was only implied in my contract and not explicitly stated.

> —Employment contract or employment certificate from company

This I had already given. I just resubmitted the same documents here.

Finally, on March 6, 2025. I was approved.

In the meantime, not knowing what would happen, and since my life and things are here, I returned to Thailand on a standard 60-day visa exemption. I was prepared to go through an agent if things didn't work out.

At the airport, for the first time ever, they asked me what my visa status was. Since I had previously been in Thailand for 2 years on an ED visa, I was prepared for questions and had printed out the page from the DTV site showing that my application was pending. This satisfied the passport-control person.

Now, all I have to do is leave Thailand sometime before the end of April and come back on my DTV to activate it.

Overall, it was a frustrating and nerve-wracking process, especially the first rejection over a technical glitch. But I'm glad it's over, and now I can continue to live and work here in peace!

May I know if house registration doc for opening bank account must be the one for the place that I actually live in?

because my landlord said he doesn’t have house registration doc for my place, but he gives me the one for his home cuz his name is in the doc. Does it work?
