Can I apply for a workcation visa in Thailand with just my employment contract and payslips instead of tax documents?

I have a remote job (not self employed, regular job). I have pay slips and work contract, but in my country I can’t easily get papers from the official tax authority quickly, and I want to apply soon. Is it possible with just my contract and payslips?

I am gonna apply for workcation, not soft power.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about applying for a workcation visa in Thailand despite difficulty obtaining official tax documents from their home country. They possess an employment contract and payslips but wonder if these are sufficient. Comments suggest that while tax documentation is typically not required for employment-based visas, having a letter from their employer confirming remote work eligibility is advisable. Additionally, discussions clarify what an 'employment certificate' entails and mention variations in financial documentation requirements (such as bank balance duration) depending on the embassy.

Also, does anyone know what the "employment certificate" is? I have a contract of course, not sure what they mean by certificate.

2.5.1. Workcation:

(1) employment contract from employer outside Thailand;

(2) employment certificate from employer outside Thailand;

Anonymous participant It is basically a letter detailing you are employed by the company, your position, when you joined etc. ChatGPT will give you an example

thanks a lot! My boss is willing to write a document stating that I am employed remotely, and can work indefintiely from Thailand, my position etc.. I guess that'll do it then.

One last question: I saw someone else post that they were required to show the 500k had been on a bank account for 6 months, but saw others say 3 months. Do you know the answer? Does it differ from one embassy to another? If so, do you know if Vietnam will accept 3 months?
Andi ***********
Anonymous participant Yeah, the 500k requirement varies among embassies. Vietnam is accepting 3 months seasoning of the 500k.

Tax returns are generally requested for self employed/freelancers people.

Do your pay slips not show tax deducted every month?

yes, but since I am registered as living abroad with my government, taxes are not automatically deducted, I have to file myself once a year and pay it (since it is less than usual because I’m not in the country)

Anonymous participant what is your passport nation?

Do you file an annual income tax return with your home country?

Anonymous participant so no then.

Many embassies approve without a tax doc. Where are you planning to apply ? Do you have a letter of permission to work remotely in Thailand from your employer? You will need to submit that with your contract and payslips

I was thinking Vietnam if that’s not a strict one

There are no tax returns on the list of requirements.

Just read through this group and find an embassy that accepted someone in your position, without asking for tax returns as additional documentation.
