Hi I wanted to ask a question about applying for the DTV at HCMC embassy. I am a self-employed online freelancer making music. I have the needed funds in a checking account and I have a portfolio showing many clients, invoices and contracts and detailing exactly what I do.

My only worry is that I do not have a company set up and I do not have 6 months of payslips. Although this isn't officially required for the visa is seems like everyone is being asked for these documents, is there any chance of approval without them and if not, is there any nearby country/embassy that I can apply from without them?

I need some advice.

I applied DTV in Hanoi yesterday.

But I have to go back my country ( I’m Korean ) for 2 days tomorrow. This is urgent things. I’ll come back to Hanoi on this Sunday.

Is this allowed to leave a few day until I receive Visa results? Do they ( Thai embassy in Hanoi) know if I leave ?

Bangkok Bank & long term extensions.

Reports are appearing that Bangkok Bank have implemented a new policy for long term visa holders wishing to get a bank account balance certificate that’s needed for your extension.

They are now requiring that you have the money in your account (400 or 800k as per needed) for 4 MONTHS prior to requesting the certificate.

This is a bank policy and NOT a new immigration rule.

I have no idea the reasoning behind this policy and at this stage it appears that it’s Bangkok Bank ONLY.

# Can I do my first-time 90-day reporting at the One Stop Service Center in One Bangkok? I am here on a Non O Retirement visa, but have always traveled before the 90-day report was due. I live near One Bangkok, so it seems a great option, if this is true. Thanks

I have a question concerning the under consideration for the extension of stay based on marriage in Chiang Mai. It will be my 2nd yearly extension. At the first extension (of the original visa) I got the under consideration stamp on top of the remaining days on my visa, which was more then 2 months after I applied. Is it the same for the 2nd extension or will the under consideration period end 30 days after I applied.

I‘m not all the time in Thailand, so I need to plan my travel accordingly.

Thanks in advance for an answer

I had an interesting return from Vietnam last week in to Donmeung. When I went to fill out the new TDAC I had a problem and couldn't finish it because a.) I have a 15 month retirment visa and live here and b,) I had no flight booked leaving the country.

I finally found a nice immigration chap that helped me so for anyone who may be in this situation you do the following. Date of leaving will be the last day of your retirment visa and onward flight will be the same number as you left the country on, (The immigration offical litteraly told me to make one up!!!!)

Hope someone finds this useful!!
