I had an interesting return from Vietnam last week in to Donmeung. When I went to fill out the new TDAC I had a problem and couldn't finish it because a.) I have a 15 month retirment visa and live here and b,) I had no flight booked leaving the country.

I finally found a nice immigration chap that helped me so for anyone who may be in this situation you do the following. Date of leaving will be the last day of your retirment visa and onward flight will be the same number as you left the country on, (The immigration offical litteraly told me to make one up!!!!)

Hope someone finds this useful!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post outlines an experience with filling out the TDAC upon returning to Thailand from Vietnam. The user encountered difficulties due to having a retirement visa and no onward flight booked. An immigration officer provided assistance by advising to enter the last date of the retirement visa and to make up a flight number. Comments from others suggest that return dates are not mandatory and that users can leave those fields blank, sharing various personal experiences and advice regarding the TDAC process.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

The official form is problematic.

Return dates are optional, but if you mess with the official form it can break in certain cases and make it mandatory.

You can also use our form here for free if your arrival date is within 72 hours, and it does not have these types of issues:

When I returned on my retirement visa, gave my visa number, name, passport number English address and date of entry into Thailand, plus where passport issued and where I was born, then TDAC issued with no further requirements.
Taleporos ********
how are the stay there?
Jay ********
@Taleporos *******
they stay here because they meet the requirements for their visa

They have the required money and are the correct age to live on a “retirement visa “

Immigration want people who live here permanently to have the correct visa not do monthly Visa runs
Nate ***********
@Taleporos *******
oh they've been here since the 1960s they have to have family take care of a lot of their Affairs for them they're about dead anyway the old man he stiff as a board I guess they're waiting for the old lady to pass away before they pull the plug on him but it's sad. I wish I would have came here sooner the opportunity for Visa would have been a lot cheaper and easier but too much is changing in the country as of late
Nate ***********
And people want to sit there here in this group and dog about how that's technically against the rule or some other BS because to me that and a border run seems to be no different from me if immigration is going to sit there and let you make up anything then that's the problem with the country not people going back and forth over the Border it's immigration that allows people through.

Every comment section is filled with these kind of ignorant people white knighting for a country that literally doesn't know what it's doing right now.

Get off the drugs you complaining wanker.

An arrival card cares little for your departure

IO helpful but not very knowledgeable. You just leave those fields blank.

ORIGINAL POSTER
No. It would not take you to the next page until there was something written in them. Perhaps they changed it but that's what happened
Graham ******
Rubbish, ignore them completely and you can complete the application
Bill *********
@David *******
Must have changed because I came back from VN 2 weeks ago. Left the return info fields blank and it all worked just fine.
Stephen ********
@David *******
that happened to me aswell, showed as a required field. Left the site, returned and started again without touching any departure field and everything went through. And immigration actually asked to see the qr code
Lim ***********
Return date is not a mandatory field.

You don't have a 15 month retirement visa. Check your passport
David ********
ORIGINAL POSTER
Ok 14 months and 5 days from date of issue
John **********
@David *******
at best it's a 3 month Non-O visa with a 12 month extension of stay (via an agent as that's the only way to get these)
Andy *******
@John *********
I think we all.knew what he meant
Damo ***********
@Andy ******
100% EVERYONE seemed to know except for 1 'dill' -
@John *********
haha.
Keith *******
@Andy ******
@John *********
is totally correct. You cannot get the 15-month visa/extension unless you use an agent. So money has changed hands
Andy *******
@Keith ******
yes I totally understand I have a 3 month and 12 month visa at moment and yes my agent arranged it for me as coming back here after being away working abroad it was the best option for me
Keith *******
@Andy ******
That's exactly the point John was making. You actually have a 90-day VISA, and a 12-month extension of stay. You probably paid north of 15,000 baht for this?
Andy *******
@Keith ******
yes of course! but it suits me and is simply a cost of living here if you don't keep the money in a Thai bank
Graham ******
@Andy ******
so your staying illegally then
Andy *******
@Graham *****
ha ha ha ..I don't supose I am alone
Keith *******
@Andy ******
I use the 65k method. I mean, you need money to live on anyway, and I pay 1900 baht each year for extension, and it's totally legal. With changes in Banking (Bangkok Bank is the first, the rest will probably follow), the days of agency visas could be drawing to a close
Andy *******
@Keith ******
ha ha ha they have been saying that since I came in 1998, in those days I was running a travel company with 50 odd staff all on visa exemption..god those were the days! if so I can use the other methods but working away I get my main income into UK bank, this time I didn't have full amount in my Bangkok bank so i just gave my agent a call and all sorted ...needs .must etc
Keith *******
@Andy ******
But Bangkok Bank are now stipulating the 800k must be in the account for four months prior to them issuing a letter. I can't see agents "loaning" 800k for four months
Andy *******
@Keith ******
you are obviously not familiar with the agent system.....its only in the bank for a matter of seconds just a paper entry bank take a cut to provide validation..no agent actually lends the money for any length of time
Keith *******
@Andy ******
Actually I'm very familiar. I've actually witnessed the downside.
Doug ********
@John *********
actually you don't have to have agent for this .
Richard ******
@John *********
Sorry John but you don’t need an agent to get a Non O and extension at all. You just have to have all the required documents and the seasoned funds in your Bank account.
John **********
@Richard *****
I'm well aware, but the only way to get what he calls a 15 month visa is via an agent as they stamp the 3 month visa and the 12 month extension of stay at the same time
Judy *******
Those did not need to be completed - it's the same as the old TM6
Bob **********
You really don’t need to fill out return dates
Bill *********
@Bob *********
I came back from VN 2 weeks ago. Left the return info fields blank and it all worked just fine.
