Currently in Vietnam and applied for remote work. I included the employment agreement and a letter from the company owner. They requested docs about the business (I added the registration and a copy of the website), my duties/employment history (I added that and my CV), but also they requested pay slips for 6 months

I haven't started work yet, which was included in the employment agreement (the start date is next week). Has anyone applied for a job they haven't been working at for six months? How can one sent pay slips if they haven't received any yet?

Thanks!

For those in Phuket with a DTV looking to open a bank account, I successfully opened one at TTB, Robinson Lifestyle Thalang in just two days.

Documents I provided:

1. Passport

2. DTV

3. Driving license (from my home country) with the exact same name as in my passport

4. Cover letter from my Muay Thai gym (the same one used for my DTV application)

5. Lease agreement for my accommodation (signed by both my landlord and me)

6. A signed copy of my landlord’s ID

7. Certificate of residence from the immigration office (I got mine from Blue Tree)

Be prepared for them to keep some or all original copies of the documents. I specifically requested my original Certificate of Residence back since it may be needed for other purposes.

The process took two days. The bank wasn’t busy, but the account opening counter was slow. Their system didn’t allow DTV holders to open an account, so they had to send my application to the Bangkok main office for approval. The next morning, I got a call from the bank, went back to sign a few more forms, and walked out with my passbook, debit card, and mobile banking set up—now I can use PromptPay.

P.S. I visited every bank in Central, and all of them said no.

Looking to extend my dtv visa in Chiang Mai. Has anyone been approved? I went soft power route, what documents are needed and will dental work appointments be fine?

First entry with DTV visa

Suvarnabhumi

presented my passport and DTV visa. immigration officer looked frustrated/angry and called a superior over and i was taken to the interrogation area.

Waited around an hour in the interrogation area with about 50 other people until my name was called, sat down and the officer said "oooh DTV visa very nice, I dont know why you pulled over here, the officer must have been confused, enjoy your stay" .. no other questions asked.

weird and inconvenient

I remember reading in the past people were refused an elite visa after getting an education visa. I guess the DTV is still too new to know if anyone has had issues getting an elite visa after getting a DTV visa?

Good morning, I write books and I receive monthly royalties from a literary agent. I don't have a company. In your opinion, can I apply for the DTV as a freelance digital nomad?

Thank you

Dear Thai advice, for the 60 day visa on entry. Do I need to show accommodation booking for whole 60 days or will they allow initially 30 days booking first?

Hello super group, i submitted my visa application last tuesday in Hanoi under the category of freelancer and it has been since on “Pending approval”…since i didn’t know wether they would give it to me or not, i decided to stay 3 months in VN before re-entering Thailand, so i asked the DTV to start in may, in more than 2 months…would it be the reason nothing seems to move ? Anyone has been in my situation ? You need to ask for the visa at maximum 3 months before you start to use it so i thought i was in my right to do so…thanks for your thoughts on that !
