I’m sharing my experience to help others navigating the process:

My husband got his DTV in Taipei, and it only took him 2 days —super fast and easy!

Since I’m Vietnamese and needed a visa for Taiwan, I applied for the DTV in Ho Chi Minh City instead.

Tips for a smoother process:

- Consider a short beach vacation: If you’re applying at the HCM consulate, flying into Da Nang or Nha Trang is a great option for a relaxing break while waiting for your results.

- Double-check your uploads: When uploading my passport page, the name order changed. Make sure to fix any errors and always click save before moving to the next page.

My Timeline:

- 5/12: Submitted my application with the following documents:

+ ID card

+ Vietnam passport stamp

+ Husband's passport and DTV scan

+ Husband’s 3 months’ bank statements

+ Sponsorship letter

+ Marriage certificate

- 9/12: Received a request for 6 months’ bank statements.

- 10/12: Submitted additional documents:

+ Uploaded savings account statements (opened only 4 months ago) and highlighted the last 2 months’ balances (over 500,000).

+ Also submitted a 6-month checking account statement and highlighted the transfers to the savings account.

- 11/12 Morning: Pending Approval.

- 11/12 Evening: Visa Approved! 🎉

It actually took me only 3 working days to get approved, as 5/12 and 10/12 were Thai holidays, plus the weekend.

My question is, some people claim that I can show the bank statement of my father, some people say it has to be my personal account,family account is not accepted. I read a few posts about people bringing a sponsorship letter from their parents and use their statements for the visa. What was your experience? Did any of you accepted this way?

Good day, looking at the requirements of 500k baht (or sponsorship letter) - what does the sponsorship letter entail? Can I for example get a letter from my father (who lives in Thailand) and give bank statements of his showing substantially more than the required 500k baht?

Effectively saying that he will support me while I am here? Would this be acceptable? Any feedback would be appreciated

Hi guys! Does anyone has knowledge or experience with using a sponsership letter while applying for the visa? I have family In Thailand who can provide me with such letter.

Also I am in Thailand on a tourist visa right now and if I want to go apply I would want to go to an embassy near. I have Spanish residency but it’s really inconvenient for me to go all the way back there and apply from there. What type of document will they accept to indicate current location?

My company provided sponsorship but in that there is no saying about baht 500000. Instead it include they cover all my financial needs.

If so do I need to request them to add about covering baht 500000 in sponsorship letter?
