Hi everyone, I have a question about the DTV visa and business registration.

Last year, I successfully obtained my DTV visa in Jakarta, and the process went smoothly. At the time, I registered the visa under my Spanish-registered business.

However, later that year, I switched my business registration to an LLC in the U.S., as I’ve learned that many digital nomads find this structure more convenient.

My question is: Since my DTV visa was originally registered under my Spanish company, will the change to a U.S.-registered LLC cause any issues?

I’ve noticed that some people get asked business-related questions when entering immigration, and I want to be prepared. Would you recommend updating my visa registration with the new company, or is it better to keep my original Spanish company documents and explain the transition if needed?

I’d appreciate any insights, especially from those who’ve been through similar situations. Ideally, I’d like to avoid visiting the immigration office.

Thanks in advance.

I recently registered as a sole trader in the UK for my remote startup, which I plan to operate from Thailand if granted a visa.

It seems the embassy is asking for Ltd documents, but I’m not a Ltd and cannot provide what they are asking for.

I've built a website, although, to date, there are no invoices, no business name registered with HMRC (as it’s not possible online), and no way to provide the Thai Embassay with what they are asking for below.

Does anyone know how I can accurately respond to this requests?

Soo. I am a freelancer, but I don’t get “payslips” or invoices for my local clients(I’m from India). I just met the clients I have locally in person and they told me what they would want every month, and I provide them what they want every month for which they transfer me the payment every single month. I’ve got the same fixed payment from these clients every single month for the last 2 years, but I don’t receive any payslips or invoices for the same.

I have more than 2 million THB in my savings account(way more than the 500k required for DTV) and I also have freelance clients through fiverr and have an Etsy shop. But the fiverr and etsy shop aren’t something that give me a fixed monthly income. it’s on and off and some months I get a lot of clients and some months are flat af. Do you think I can apply for a DTV based on my local(2 clients) that I have even though I can prove the payment through showing the payment in my bank account and can present my tax statements, but don’t have payslips or invoices for the same?

I know this may sound like I’ve not done my research, but please don’t come for me too hard 😫

But I’m asking for any advice + information regarding registering/setting up a business in Thailand as a foreigner (British national)

What is the process? Is it possible? Is there set requirements for having a Thai business partner? Or a set amount of Thai people working for the company? Is the process lengthy and filled with fees?

Again, Thankyou for anyone who takes the time to provide me information and point me in the right direction! Please don’t be mean 🙏🏽🙏🏽😅

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know a good lawyer who can help me navigate my DTV Visa application or can anyone recommend the best way possible to go about getting my Visa application approved?

I’m a Belgian citizen, and I recently applied for the DTV Visa online, but unfortunately, my application was rejected without an explanation. I provided all the requested documents, yet they still denied my application.

I run a digital marketing agency registered in the U.S., which I operate alone and remotely. I provided proof that both my personal and business bank accounts hold funds exceeding the required 500,000 Thai baht. However, I have no employees and currently don’t pay myself a salary, as I rely on other income sources for my monthly expenses. I suspect this may have contributed to the rejection, or it could be due to the requirement for company registration documents verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which I did not have.

If anyone can help me understand what went wrong and how to proceed, I would greatly appreciate it. I’m currently in France and plan to travel back to Thailand around March 15th.

Thank you!

Hi everyone, I’m applying for DTV visa in Vietnam.

For the Business Registration document I’m taking a screenshot of a website in which is reported the name of the company, country, status, jurisdiction, company number, legal form, type of activity and director.

Is it enough?

Thank you for your help!

Update:

I previously posted about being rejected by Los Angeles after 17 days pending document check because the system had deleted my middle name before submission.

I re-applied and, after about one week, received the following document requests:

"Other request documents: Business portfolio

Other request documents: Please upload a business registration of the company

Other request documents: Your recent tax return

Other request documents: Guarantee letter from the company implies that you work remotely

Other request documents: Employment contract or employment certificate from company"

—"Business portfolio":

It would sure be helpful if they explained what they mean by that. In my original application, I included links to two of my freelance portfolios where they can see dozens of pieces of work from the last couple of years. Should I print out hundreds of pages of work as the portfolio? My main current job is a large project that is not yet finished for them to see.

—"Business Registration":

Again, it would be helpful if they were a bit more explicit. The main foundation I work for has a prominent website. I Googled their "business registration" and all their information since 2001 is available on Propublica.com. I guess I will print that out and submit that?

—"Recent tax return":

That is clear enough. I didn't file this yet this year, but I will do that today.

—"Guarantee letter from the company implies that you work remotely":

This is funny because I am a literary translator and writer, so of course my work is remote, but my contract doesn't explicitly say that because it's obvious. I will request that from my main employer spelling it out.

—"Employment contract or employment certificate from company":

This is the most troubling because I already submitted a very thorough copy of my contract to them. So I am very confused as to why they are asking for it again.

Overall, it doesn't look very promising. At least they didn't ask me for more financial documentation. I will submit these docs and hope for the best, but I'm pretty discouraged by this opaque system with no recourse. If it fails again, I'll try to go through an agent, which is probably much more reliable.

Has anyone applied for remote work and the company is a sole proprietorship, where a business registration isn't required?

Thanks
