Hi everyone,

A friend submitted his DTV application at HAN (Hanoi, Vietnam) on July 22, and it changed to "Pending Approval" on July 24.

Today is August 1st (Friday evening) and he still hasn't received any update.

Is this delay unusual?

Has anyone had their visa approved over the weekend before?

Any insights or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks 🙏

Maybe a dumb question but here it is anyway :

Since Thailand is talking again about changing their 60 day policy to 30 days , I’d end up doing a 30 + 30 day extension when travelling there later this year.

Are there any repercussions for overstaying by 1 or 2 days ?

Looking at flights and with my dates it’s a better deal to stay the 61 or 62 days.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I am coming to Thailand for 5 weeks at the end of August.

I am then back in the UK for 3 1/2 weeks before heading back to Thailand for just over 5 months, from the beginning November.

For the November trip, I was thinking that the 6 month METV would be the best visa to get.

If so, will the 3 1/2 weeks that I am back in the UK be enough time to get the visa.

TIA X

Sorry about the anonymous post I don't usually do it but don't want a certain person bugging me. Done my second entry today at chiang khong and it was smooth asf. Leaving laos he said you only stayed one night but I had my print out to hand and (laminated with dtv print out on one side and soft power document on the other side.a smile and through in 2 mins max. On the thai side exactly the same but took a bit longer as the lady was interested about my cycle touring as I was entering with my touring bike.took about 3 mins max. Showed my dtv but she just passed it back to be with a โคกดีและปลอดภัยเดินทาง.

Has anyone experienced any problems entering Thailand on a DTV that was issued more than 3 months prior to arrival?

Thailand DTV Visa – Ho Chi Minh Consulate – Approved

I’d like to thank this group for all the incredibly useful information shared. Here are some details about my own application, and I hope they can help more people.

💡 Tips:

Since the visa officer cannot meet you in person, you need to carefully consider what information they might need. Think from their perspective — not just what you have or what you think is important, but what they might require to approve your case.

One small strategy I used: I didn’t apply right after arriving in Vietnam. Instead, I waited almost a month before submitting my application to avoid giving the impression that I came to Vietnam specifically for the DTV visa.

I reviewed every shared post in this group and spent 10 days preparing over 90 pages of documents. The preparation and the wait were intense and exhausting — but I did it. Regardless of whether it was worth it or not, I made it through.

I hope all of you have good luck in your journey!

Just came to my mind, about bank accounts. Bangkok bank started sending messages to customers they need to vwrify their info, early this year.

First, I went to bangkok bank, and since my phone number was same as when i opened my account long time ago with visa exempt, they told me everything ok but i needed to go truemove to identify myself.

Just now, having a conversation elsewhere, I just realized bangkok bank wasnt interested in my visa, they asked nothing about it, only told me i need to verify my number with the operator (picture, address and maybe something else i dont remember).

So be cool, they are not interested in your visa type if you already have an account with them.

Peace out 😘

Hello everyone,

I have a Bangkok Bank account. I opened it myself at a branch, not through an agent, but I currently don't have a long-term visa. This account has always been functional, and I've been able to log in to the mobile app. However, a few days ago, after I changed my phone, when I tried to log in again, a page appeared asking me to contact the branch. I've heard that Bangkok Bank is currently cleaning up some accounts, but my account has been used for some time and was fully compliant when it was opened. If I visit a branch, is it possible to restore my account access? I've searched through old posts from two months ago, when the situation first began, and I've found conflicting opinions. I'd like to know if anyone has had any personal experience with a similar situation. I'm currently traveling elsewhere in Southeast Asia, and I'm considering whether it's worth adjusting my plans to visit Thailand sooner. Thanks.
