Hey, all - first of all, thanks so much to everyone who has shared their experiences and offered assistance in this group - I've been going through it with a fine tooth comb and the info was gold 🙏 my application was approved and I'm now in Chiangmai!
Given the fact that the majority of my funds are in an ISA and I was requested extra documents around this subject, I wanted to share my experience (with the London Embassy) if anyone else faces this concern:
Wednesday 12th Feb: Submitted application (soft power, London Embassy)
Friday 14th Feb: requested extra documents (better quality and cropped photo [my bad], 30 day statement from a personal account)
NOTE: I'd already provided 6 months of statements from a personal savings account (HSBC) and the annual letter from another bank (Cynergy) with the majority of my funds (in an ISA) - together, this came to over 500k THB.
I had a nightmare trying to obtain an actual statement from Cynergy bank as ISAs work differently (so they say), so after a lot of back-and-forth, I provided the Embassy with the following:
Tuesday 18th Feb: Submitted cover letter explaining that I could not get a 30-day statement for my cash ISA as my bank can't provide this, so I have provided the following:
* Transaction history
* Savings deposit details
* Account deposit details
(the sum was over the 500k THB requirement and it stated that it was an annual ISA, with dates, etc.)
THANKFULLY this was enough - I was so concerned that I couldn't provide an actual bank statement (as with current accounts) but with the letter explaining things, and the supporting documents, it was approved the next day (Wednesday 19th Feb)
For anyone applying in the UK, the London Embassy were super quick and would 100% recommend. I hope this helps for anyone else who might have the same situation as I did 🙃
P.S. PRINT YOUR VISA! The immigration officer at Chiangmai was very lovely but asked to physically see my visa. I'd already printed it, as well as my muay thai docs (although he didn't ask to see this and there's nothing in the remarks about softpower)
Has anyone applied for a DTV visa Muay Thai from London or another embassy that has not been registered by the thai authorities but has a letter from the gym confirming that’s where they’re attending?
When applying for the DTV and showing the bank statements for the proof of 500k baht, can the money be split across two accounts or must it all be sitting in one account for 6 months before submitting the application? UK citizen applying via London embassy.
When applying at London embassy for soft power DTV Muay Thai it says employment status i am currently unemployed with no income but substantial savings in crypto/bank
even when you choose the unemployed option it still asks for annual income any advice what to put .. there is a “no income” option or a “below $20,000” and other options with higher income brackets
Not sure what to put if i put below 20,000 will they want to see further proof of that income even if it is soft power
will i risk being denied the visa if i choose the no income option even though it is soft power and i have the 500,000 available
Has anyone successfully obtained a DTV from the London embassy whilst holding a METV. I know somebody was denied in Hanoi but each embassy is different. Thanks.
I have FINALLY applied for the DTV visa from London embassy (online ofc!) I will keep you updated with my application and if I get accepted or not 🙏🏼 wish me luck!!! 🇹🇭🙏🏼
I applied on Friday 29th November. I was asked for further documents, one being my e-ticket. So it appears the London Embassy want you to have booked a flight. I fly on 16th December and I am at ‘pending approval’ stage. Feeling a little nervous the DTV won’t come through in time, if approved. Has anyone else applied around the same time and have you been approved?
Letter from employer addressed to the Thai Embassy in London saying I have permission to work in Thailand.
Scan of Drivers license (the card)for proof of address.
Bank statement showing about £13,000 - I asked my bank to send me a statement for just a few days so it did not contain any transactions.
Proof of visa payment
Extra document was requested about 24 hours after the initial application- contract of employment.
After submitting the requested document, the visa was approved on a Sunday 48 hours later.
Only slightly worrying part of the process was that when I first went to pay for the visa, the system sent me some weird error message and I couldn’t pay. To solve the issue , I just completed the forms again and on the 2nd attempt, the payment portal worked.
Are you receiving email notifications for updates on your DTC e-visa applications? I applied online with the London Embassy, and didn’t realise they had asked for additional documentation until I logged into the portal today to check the status. It says details in the email which I never received (not in spam either).
