Hello, if I have a non-O annual visa in an old passport and made a new passport, I bring both passports to the entry and then have to go to immigration and transfer the annual visa to the new passport, or does that also make the Thai embassy in Berlin ?

Hi, my application got cancelled today with the reason “wrong date of issue” I’m assuming they meant the date of issue on my passport, which I checked 10 times over. I can’t even look at my original application as it is “finished” now. Is there anything I can do, or do I just have to reapply ? Same embassy or different one ? TIA
Looking for advice on getting a DTV visa for Thailand
I’ve spent 4 months in Thailand this year. I’m currently traveling in Spain and Portugal, and plan to head back to Thailand in October for 2 months before returning to the US.
Question 1 – When and where to apply:
Should I apply for the DTV visa now while I’m in Europe?
My passport is running out of pages soon. I’ve read (and ChatGPT confirmed) that they can put the visa in my old passport, and I’d just show both the old and new passports when traveling. But I’d rather avoid extra confusion with border agents and keep it all in one passport if possible.
Is this a big deal — should I wait until next year when I have my new passport, or just go ahead and apply now?
I’ve also considered just going with the digital nomad option, but I’m concerned about Thai taxes. Based on what I’ve read, I likely wouldn’t owe anything, but I’d still prefer to avoid being in their tax system altogether.
Question 2 – Muay Thai option:
I qualify for the DTV in a few ways, but I’m most interested in the Muay Thai option since it seems to require less financial disclosure.
My gym has a program, but it’s 37,000 THB per week for only 2 training sessions a week. I currently train 5 privates a week for only 5,000 THB, so that cost makes no sense.
Do I have to stick with one approved gym to qualify, and do I have to stay enrolled in their program for the whole visa? Or can I train independently?
I really do train 5 days a week — I’m not trying to scam the system — but at 37k per week, I might as well just get the Elite Visa.
Has anyone had this issue? In "document number" it has incorrectly copied in my passport expiry date, as being 1934 instead of 2034. Any idea what to do? I don't want to proceed and then get rejected.
Somebody suggested I make a separate post out of this, thanks again for the answers in the other one. So how to avoid being rejected like many others have been, apparently, because of wrong name entry?
Caveat in my case; I happen to have a PhD and there are some funny countries like the one I'm from where this can be put into the passport.
At first I thought it was a good idea, and probably helps at some border checkpoints. However, it is much more trouble than it is worth, esp with regards to air travel, I'll spare you the details. So pictured below are the relevant excerpts name, plus the MRZ. However, the MRZ appears to be somewhat random, also shown the MRZ of my last passport where it is the other way around. Any tips welcome. Thank you.
I currently hold a Non-Immigrant O Marriage Visa. I will be traveling to Germany soon, where I will need to obtain a new passport. My current passport will likely be stamped as invalid.
What steps do I need to take to ensure I can re-enter Thailand and transfer my visa to the new passport upon my return?
I have retirement visa on my passport and I would like to transferre it to my other passport (different nationality). I was told I need to leave Thailand and enter with tourist visa and in Thailand I will start the process al over again with the new passport. Has anyone done this?
I was living in Thailand for 3 yrs on a work permit that ended late March.
I have dual nationality and left Thailand on the passport that my work permit was on.
I have returned early April on my other passport, Reason for changing passports was simply because my other one was full.
I will be leaving Thailand in the next few days to apply for my DTV.
Has anyone had any experience with changing passports etc, just worrying that it might look suspicious even though Thai immigration had no issues with it.
