Have been approved for Non O retirement visa, traveling over end of May. My passport got damaged and I have had to order a new passport in Dublin Ireland. Do I have to advise London embassy who issued the visa non O or do I just show the two passport on entry. My new passport number will differ from the application.
Has anyone here had experience entering Thailand on a different passport than the one your DTV visa is stamped on?
Specifically, if you hold a DTV on Passport A, leave Thailand, then re-enter using Passport B (a different nationality), did it cause any issues at immigration?
I'm about to apply to get my DTV, but am unsure of the following:
I hold 2 nationalities: a Latin American one and a European one.
All of my funds are in my native (Latin American) currency, thus showing my tax information, address, etc. of my home country. However, I consider the European passport to make a stronger impression and would get approved (hopefully) faster, but this is solely a belief, as I have no evidence.
The problem with applying with the Euro passport is that it would mismatch the currency, tax info, address, and others, so I'm quite unsure as to with which nationality to use.
Has anyone had any experience with this? What are your thoughts and recs?
Hello ,my passport is expired and renew at our embassy in Thailand ,so do I need to transfer visa old to new passport and can I do at Samut Prakan immigration?
I think I have a problem. My passport got damaged by water and I now have to go to my
embassy in Bangkok to get a new one. Entry stamp and extension of stay can't be read. So what shall I do? I have a Thai drivers license which may let my fly domestically (?) Is this ok? Can I use that? During covid I had to take a taxi from Udon Thani to Bangkok when I returned to my home country (no flights at the moment) - wouldn't want that again. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Do I simply go to immigration with my new passport and ask them to change the visa to the new one? Or can I travel with my new passport showing the old one at the airport immigration when I arrive.
Just sharing our experience entering Thailand with DTV:
My partner and I entered through BKK yesterday morning. For me it was the 5th time entering on my DTV, for my partner the 1st time. We both had our visa laminated in passport size.
I had to get a new passport last August, so when I entered again in September I brought my old passport. Back then the IO didn’t care for my old passport and gave it back without looking at it.
This time though, the IO did want to see my old passport and actively compared the data in my passports to each other and to the data on her screen. No further questions asked, got a DTV stamp with 180 days.
My partner got his stamp almost immediately, without any questions.
So, super easy entry once again (like all my other entries).
Hi, i have received my tourist visa by email, but my passport got damaged by water and i got a new passport, can I still travel with both passports as proof? Or do i need to reapply again for a new visa for the new passport ?
