ORIGINAL POSTER
Hi everyone,

Currently in Thailand living in Bangkok on the DTV (soft power).

Just looking to clarify do I have to do my 90 day report at an immigration office?

And I have to exit the country before the 6 months? Any advice of where to go to? I’m just looking to fly out and straight back as I have my dogs in Bangkok.

Please no hate and thanks for any advice in the easiest option to sort this.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the requirement to complete a 90-day report for their DTV visa while in Bangkok and seeks advice on exiting Thailand before the 6-month mark while having their dogs with them. Community members provide various insights, emphasizing that if the user departs every 89 days, they may avoid the 90-day report. However, if they stay over 90 days, they must submit the report in person at their local immigration office. Suggestions for quick exit trips include flights to nearby countries like Vietnam or Malaysia, with advice on preparing necessary documentation like the TM30 for proof of address.

Yes and no

If you leave every <89 days for the next 5 years you never have to do a 90 day report

If you stay >90+ days yes you have to do a 90 report (you have 2 weeks prior and 7 days after your 90 day Date)

Yes every time you return from an international trip you have to do an in person 90 day report (TM47) at your local immigration office

Your second 90 day Report TM47 can be done online as long as you haven’t changed passport numbers or immigration offices

You will need to have your landlord or hotel do a TM30 within 7 days of you returning to Thailand in person at the immigration office or within 24 hours online

…if you have a cool landlord/Tambien Bahn housemaster you can get their information and do it online not bothering them all the time you have 24 hours to do this

The landlord or Tambien Bahn housemaster can also do the TM30 via snail mail

Some condo buildings do the TM30 at the front desk

You can’t do a 90 day report TM47 without the TM30 it’s a ฿1,600 baht fine in Bangkok not sure what it is in other immigration offices

For the TM30 in Bangkok if you take short trips in Thailand (weekend to Pattaya as an example) you don’t have to register once you return to your condo in Bangkok

I hope it makes sense

I used to go DMK-KUL at 0730

Return KUL-DMK by 1600

Same day no issues cost is usually around ฿5,000

Good luck

Nice answer. ,

Though technically not possible to do a report online. We have to leave every 180 days. 1’st report always in person.

When you do your first 90 day report on day 83 then your next will be at 173, which is before you have to leave. This second one can be done online, or prevented by doing the first not before day 90.

Well not necessarily

You can do a 90 day report 14 days prior and up to 7 days after

One day in the future you might want to buy a 6 month extension at your local immigration office

So you will do the 90 day report prior to asking for it…just common sense really

So there you go if you buy the extension you can do it online

Good Luck

DTV_Begpacker so the first time you have to do the 90 day report in person the 2nd time you don’t granted passport/immigration office doesn’t change. Does it reset when you leave the country though? Example… I do 90 day report than when I hit 170 days I leave country, come back in next day so my 180 days reset….90 days later I have to report in person AGAIN or since I did it person and everything else has stayed the same I can just do it online? Granted let’s say I also have the DTV? Thanks in advance.

What is first time

First time is your first time you must report to your local immigration office in person

First time is anytime you return from an international trip and stay in country 90+ days you must report to your local immigration office in person

I don’t make the rules I just understand the playbook

If you never want to do a 90 day report depart Thailand every <89 days or less

Good luck

Count 90 days from entry, get a printed TM30 (proof of current address) from where you stay, take passport and go immigration. It takes about 15mins of your day ... you leave the country after 180 days

Takes a lot longer than 15 mins in Bangkok where he is.

Fly to Vietnam or Malaysia. Usually can get some pretty cheap flights.

90 day report at your local immigration office , where your TM30 was filed. There are agents that will do it for you. It’s pretty simple to do though.
