Id like to apply for my Tax Id Number (TIN) to withdraw my salary from Upwork. I called around the revenue departments and they couldn’t understand me as they don’t speak English. What should I do? Please advise me 🙏

Hello. I'm working at a school in BKK and have a work permit, and the tax id. I'd like to do part-time remote work as a freelancer (non-teaching) and get paid to my thai bank account from clients overseas. Would it be fine? I'd like to do it legally, I'm willing to declare my income and pay tax. Can you suggest the way to do it? Normally, one would need to open a company and sponsor his work permit. But I do have a wp and don't think you can possess two. Any ideas appreciated. Thank you.

Sharing my DTV experience.

Applied from Ho Chi Min, Vietnam. Applied on Thursday, got accepted today (Monday).

- Provided my September (only) bank statement, with balance shown of course.

- A friend of mine has been asked to provide, as a proof of location, his passport stamp proving he was in Vietnam as well as a hotel OR flight booking. So I did submit my stamp and hotel booking.

- As I’m a freelancer, I provided for my proof of work a PDF containing links to and screenshot of my LinkedIn, GitHub and portfolio.

Everything was done online. Haven’t been to the embassy.

Hello, I need advice or feedback regarding the DTV Visa with families.

Has anyone applied for this visa while “including” family members? Let me explain: my partner (we’re not married) and I are both self-employed, and we would like to move to Thailand with our two-year-old daughter next year. After spending more than seven months here during different trips, we are sure of our decision.

Now, we’re considering possibly hiring an immigration agent for some guidance, but I would also love to hear feedback from this community. Do you think the DTV is the simplest and most suitable option for our case? Since we are not married, would that be an issue for being on the same visa?

Does our daughter need an education visa if she attends school there, or can we simply include her on our visa? I am aware that this visa is very recent, and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Please help me to understand the 'onward travel' requirement when flying to Thailand.

We are always advised that the airline could ask u to show an onward travel ticket at check in time in the airport. The reason being that if u r denied entry on arrival in Bkk they are required to fly you back home.

So what use is having an onward travel ticket within your visa stamp date of usually 60 days if u r denied entry on arrival?

Maybe I am missing something here.

Hi! For those with a DTV visa, were you asked by immigration for an onward/return ticket? Thanks in advance!

We're coming from the U.S. and staying in Thailand for at least 60 days. We currently have Verizon and could use their international plan, but we’re curious about other options. Does anyone have experience with buying a SIM card in Thailand that works internationally? Any recommendations would be appreciated!
