Some years in a row i stayed in Thailand with tourist visa and border runs. And some years i was here more than 180days a year 🙂 now emmigration dont like this and i want to make DTV visa 🙂

It will not be an issue? Anybody done it?

Also if somebody stayed 180+ days, dont you have any problems with tax system (becoming Thailand tax residence)? 🙂

I'm looking into the DTV. I'm an American digital nomad running a YT channel and online music teaching program as a sole proprietor. Pretty DIY so my proof of work would be my YouTube channel and teaching site. I'm not an LLC or anything. Will this cause any issues?

Question regarding taxes:

I'm a US citizen and work remotely. My work is not stable, I pick up different contracts throughout the year.

I arrived to Thailand on a DTV late October 2024. I plan to stay though Songkran and extend for an additional 6 months. That puts me at more than 180 days for calendar year 2025. What are my tax obligations? Do I need to pay Thailand & US taxes?

I traveled for over 10 months internationally 2024 but didn't stay in one place for more than 180 day so I'm assuming it's ok for this year.

TIA!

The embassy requested that I provide a business registration with the government as well as certification from my employer. I'm a self employed digital artist who sells directly to computer gamers. Any members out there run into this problem who can suggest a solution?

Hello. I'm working at a school in BKK and have a work permit, and the tax id. I'd like to do part-time remote work as a freelancer (non-teaching) and get paid to my thai bank account from clients overseas. Would it be fine? I'd like to do it legally, I'm willing to declare my income and pay tax. Can you suggest the way to do it? Normally, one would need to open a company and sponsor his work permit. But I do have a wp and don't think you can possess two. Any ideas appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, the question is about taxes incoming from DTV visa.

If a DTV holder stays in Thailand for more than 180 days per year he is subject to taxes.

Questions:

1) What are the taxes in % and where/whom should I pay that? How to make it official?

2) If I leave before 180 days and come back again in 1 month will I still need to pay taxes or the period will reset back to zero days of standing?

3) What if I receive salary in Crypto?

Thanks!

Are there any people currently employed by companies outside of Thailand who have experience with the new 180-day stay visa? What is your experience been like in terms of any required payments to Thailand? Did you have to register anywhere in addition? Also, is your employer obligated to pay any extra fees or taxes to Thailand during your stay?

Thanks

Official updates by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the new visa measures (including the DTV). Looks like it is really happening within the next days.

Looking to get a second opinion from an accountant about my business. I'm looking to cease operating and making it a dormant company. No property or assets held. Can anyone advise one?

Hi all,

Is there any clarity on the tax situation yet?

We want to go for the retirement visa (or LTV), but do you have to pay tax in Thailand over your worldwide income, your money in your bank account (Wise in my case) or whatever you put in your Thai bankaccount?

Do you also pay tax over the 800k that you have in your Thai bank account for securing the visa? If so, once or every year?
