Can unregistered partners and their child apply for a DTV Visa to Thailand together?

Hello, I need advice or feedback regarding the DTV Visa with families.

Has anyone applied for this visa while “including” family members? Let me explain: my partner (we’re not married) and I are both self-employed, and we would like to move to Thailand with our two-year-old daughter next year. After spending more than seven months here during different trips, we are sure of our decision.

Now, we’re considering possibly hiring an immigration agent for some guidance, but I would also love to hear feedback from this community. Do you think the DTV is the simplest and most suitable option for our case? Since we are not married, would that be an issue for being on the same visa?

Does our daughter need an education visa if she attends school there, or can we simply include her on our visa? I am aware that this visa is very recent, and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV Visa requires each individual to hold their own visa; you cannot add a partner or child to one visa. Since you are not married, both you and your partner must independently qualify for the DTV. Following the main visa approval, you may apply for your child's dependent DTV. It's uncertain whether your child requires an education visa, as it depends on the school's policies; some may not require it if the child is under 14.

As you are not married you would both need to qualify for the DTV independently. If you are granted a DTV you could apply for your kid to get their own DTV as your dependant

First of all, there is no such thing as being on the same visa or adding someone else to your visa. Each person has to have their own visa. The way the DTV works is that one person can be the primary visa holder, and they must apply for and pay for their DTV. Then once they get it, a dependent DTV can be applied for based on this initial DTV, and one of the requirements is to upload the primary DTV as part of the documents. Each one must be applied for and paid for separately, and the dependent DTV is only available to spouse (legally married) and children.

Whether your daughter requires an education visa or not is up to the school. Some will want to know the child is either not on overstay, or for them to be on an ED visa, and some won't care either way. Most people with children that age do not do anything with visas and just let them go on overstay as children under 14 cannot be fined for overstay and children under 18 cannot be banned for overstay.

Thank you very much Brandon for clarifying ! I understand that one of us will have to apply and show all the proofs required, and pay the visa. Then once it’s granted, the other member (if we get married) can apply too, as a dependent and will only have to pay its visa but they won’t be asking for the requirements of funds or job/cultural activity again. Thanks again for your response
