Hi! For those with a DTV visa, were you asked by immigration for an onward/return ticket? Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The general consensus among commenters is that Thai immigration typically does not require an onward or return ticket for holders of a DTV visa. However, airlines may ask for this documentation prior to boarding flights. Some users shared experiences of being questioned by airline staff but noted that immigration officers in Thailand usually do not request this information.

As a general rule an onward ticket is not asked for or a requirement for anyone on a visa. It's specifically appropriate for a exempt entry. But a airline can still ask for it. Most likely not.

Thanks! My airline (Malaysia Airlines) asked for it but only after questioning the existence of such a visa😅 Hoping the Thai immigration will not bother as I haven’t decided my next destination yet.

ASK your airline if they will require a ticket departing Thailand?

Thai Immigration Officers will NOT ask.

when you check in for the flight ✈️ to Thailand, show the airline a ticket departing Thailand within the 59 days you are stamped in on arrival.

That can be a cheap one way ticket to Phnom Penh. AND if you are able to book it on a website which allows you to cancel the ticket within 24 hours of Booking, print out the booking and cancel the ticket.

Thanks James! That’s good to know. Malaysia Airlines wanted an onward ticket but only because their system showed that UK nationals get 60 days. After making some calls about my visa, they shrugged and let me through.
