DTV APPROVED @ Jakarta, Indonesia

Applied on January 14th at 5am

Approved on January 20th in the afternoon.

I was not requested for any additional documentation as I had all my Muay Thai documents in order. I showed 6 months of bank statements. I did not have over 500k until I topped it up a few days before applying.

I highly recommend doing ur DTV visa here.

Now I guess the next step is to wait till 90 days gets closer and do my 90 day online or possibly in person. I have been here in Thailand already on a ED visa but canceled it when I departured the airport.

Any questions please comment and I will try to answer them all. Thanks to everyone in the group.

Approved 😀

Thank you to this group for providing such valuable information!!!! To pay it forward, here's how my application went.

Applied in HCM on Wednesday 15/01 around 8PM for Muay Thai DTV

Had a quick look on Friday 17/01 and saw status moved to pending approval

Was getting a bit nervous today (business day #5) as I didn't want to be stuck here for Tet. Emailed the consulate this morning (no reply) and called them at 4:30PM (30 minutes before closing). The lady on the phone said my application would be approved today or tomorrow, I asked her if it please can be today and she said she'd speak to the consul.

40 minutes later (5:10PM) I got the approval email.

Documents:

Proof of location: pdf with a picture of entry stamp, boarding pass, hotel booking and Vietnam visa

Financial: Savings account 01/07/2024 - 15/01/2025 (day of application), there was well over THB500K in the account for the entire period. I gave them monthly statements with all transactions and beginning/end amounts (Dutch bank, did not translate the statements)

Muay Thai:

* letter of endorsement

* letter of enrolment (8 months training, start date, also stating I had paid 1 month ahead and will be living in the gym)

* training schedule

* gym business registration

* sports authority registration

* house book gym

* house book gym owner

* ID (back and front) gym owner

Form

Home address: hotel in HCM

Permanent address: gym in Thailand

Thai address: gym in Thailand

Employment: unemployed (I'm actually a freelancer but between contracts so technically not lying)

My background

November '21 - July '23 countless visa exempts, a few tourist visa's, extensions, border runs and (remember those?) 2 COVID extensions

July '24 - now ED visa + 1 ED extension (did not get a re-entry stamp when I left last week), visa I got through a language school

I genuinely train at the gym, have been since 2018, it's a relatively small, family-owned gym that only does DTV for people who will actually attend training (so unless you're willing to do so, don't ask which gym it is 😉)

Flying back tomorrow, will update this post to let you know how immigration went (Phuket).

UPDATE re entry: Entered through Phuket Intl Airport, the IO studied my ED visa and extension, told me I don't have to do fingerprints, only photo and didn't ask any questions, stamped me in for 180 days. Easy peasy ☺️

Hello! I’ve successfully obtained my DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Penang 🥳

* Date of application submission: January 10

* Date of visa approval: January 22

In the meantime, they asked me several follow-up questions, including:

1. Why do you want to work remotely in Thailand? (like it, convenient regarding timezone...)

2. Do you need to contact any Thai partners? (no)

3. Please provide samples of your work (blablabla)

4. What's the details of your work in Thailand (blablabla)

5. Do you have an office in Thailand? (no)

6. How often do you travel to Thailand for working? (few months each year)

If you’re going through the process, feel free to ask me for advice—I’d be happy to help!

I work as an online recruiter and headhunter, helping companies worldwide find the perfect candidates for their teams.

Hello,

I heard DTV Visa is being seen as problematic and might be regulated/canceled, is that true?

Should I apply now even if I don’t plan going thailand before 6 to 10 months from now?

I want ideally do the Visa the workcation way but I don’t have customers yet.

I am thinking of using the softpower way with muay thai: can I go something like 1 class a week during 6 month and then never do muay thai class again if I want to stop but still live in thailand under the DTV Visa? or are they gonna ask me to renew classes if I want to stay in thailand?

Can I work remotely for non thai customer if I got my DTV Visa the softpower way?

My goal is to find the best visa to stay until my Flight back home on the 24th of March.

Dont want to leave the country because I take painting lessons here and dont want to lose time ( of course unless no choices ).

Someone can help me please and advice me for the best 🙏🏻 it will be wonderful !

Have a Nice day ✨✨
