TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the insurance requirements for IPD (Inpatient Department) and OPD (Outpatient Department) when renewing a one-year visa in Thailand. Comments clarify that there is no visa renewal, but rather an application for an extension, and that insurance is specifically required for the one-year retirement extension under a Non-OA visa. Additionally, there are options to renew insurance and perform a border run for a new entry stamp if on a Non-OA visa that hasn’t expired.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
If you are on a 12 month Non-OA Visa which has not yet expired (the Visa not your entry stamp) you can get new 12 month nsurance and border bounce to get a new 12 month entry stamp (but not multi-entry when the Non-OA is expired)

There's no such thing as a visa renewal. You can apply for an extension. The only extension that requires insurance is a 1-year retirement extension if you started with a 1-year non-OA visa that also required insurance.
