When cancelling an ED extension, how long before the extension or school letter end date can you cancel?

I’ve got the school letter saying the official course end date is 5 days after the extension ends but was planning on leaving two weeks before the extension ends.

Hey guys.

I’m going to be applying for a tourist visa on Tuesday morning at the embassy in KL (as need to apply from outside the country.)

I’m on my last few days on an ED visa right now. On my stamp the ED visa expires on the 25th Jan but Tuesday (when I’ve got my application booking) is 23rd Jan. From what I understand no problem with that but want to make sure.

The school have assure me they will cancel the visa but as I interpreted from my previous question on this group this isn’t so important for tourist visas, only for long term such as another ED, business etc.?

Also, I know that KL is 2 working days including the day it is submitted. Does anyone know if the passport is ready for collection in the afternoon or morning? Or does it vary.

We are a couple, UK & Russian passports.

Thanks.

Has anyone visited the Royal Thai Consulate in Kuala Lumpur recently?

[Apologies for the complexity of the query.🙏🏻]

How difficult/easy would the TR visa obtaining process be for someone who’s canceling an ED to get a Tourist visa soon to be able to transfer to a Non-B by a hiring company?

Thank you ka

Hi everyone, I have 2 questions.

1) Does anyone know if it is required to obtain a visa online or elsewhere before arriving in Laos? I am doing a 2-3 day visa run from Thailand. In the past, I recall getting one on arrival but I haven't left Thailand in more than a few years (covid, then ED visa).

2) When I return to Thailand, will I have a problem receiving a 30 day tourist visa stamp (USA passport) if I have a letter stating a cancellation of my ED visa prior to my travels? My concern is that I have been in Thailand for so long without leaving that maybe it could become suspicious and I could get rejected.

Any advice or shared experience is greatly appreciated! Thank you

How can I cancel my ED visa? I am aware that leaving the country without doing anything doesn't mean that my ED is cancelled.

I had my last extension on my current ED and due date it's 27 january 2023. Decided to leave earlier to get out of Thailand.

I booked a morning flight around 650am somewhere in mid January. Messaged my language school and there was no reply... (Perhaps they missed it)

Now I was told that I have to leave the same day when my ED is cancelled, but my flight is in morning, couldn't go to immigration at chaengwatanna to cancel.

Can I cancel my ED at the airport directly? What documents do I need to prepare?

TIA

I need a reference for a good visa agent. I am on a student visa and before that expires i'll be transitioning to a retiree visa but this involves things like canceling my current ED visa. So I am looking for a reliable agent who can make sure this is done correctly for me.

Hi, i am enquiring obo my son. He will be doing visa run to Cambodia on 7th Sep. He needs to cancel his current ED visa before he does the visa run. He will be going to immigration on Monday, 5th. There will be a 2 day delay before he does visa run. How do you get around this? Will immigration cancel visa effective Monday 5th and he must leave country or do they at least give you a few days to leave and if so is there a cost involved?

Hello,

Few questions for me today :

1. Which documents do I need for cancel my ED-visa? I know about the letter from the school (Duke Language School) but is there something else? I plan to set the cancellation date to next Tuesday 26th October.

1. Which documents do I need for ask the covid-19 extension of stay? I plan to go ask for it as soon as I made the cancellation of my ED-visa (tomorrow or Monday depending how long does it take to Chaengwattana to process the cancellation).

1. Can I ask for a Non-B visa from there : a cancelled ED-visa obtained in-country in march this year (date of cancellation set to Tuesday 26th October) and a current covid-19 Extension (start after the day of cancellation of the ED-visa I suppose)? The company I gonna work for is based in Bangkok but she outsource all the administrative stuff to a company named "ATA service". That company told me today they can't get me a Non-B visa with my actuel visa situation. So, I'm a bit confused since it's since that some others people (with a similar situation) already successfully did that process, and I think they just look at it like "no change from ED-visa to Non-B visa", without thinking about the cancellation + covid-19 possibility. But at the same time they since quite competent for their stuff... I don't expect a clear yes/no answer, but some feedback from people who already did it would be appreciated. Also, Do you think it's worth it to try it anyway (asking the Non-B visa) no matter what (even if the company ATA service believe it's not possible at the moment)?

Thank you.

[Not cancelling visa before leaving Thailand]

Hi everyone. My university will extend my Non Ed visa for an extra month as I am uncertain of the date of my flight. However I'm pretty sure that my repatriation flight will take place before the extension ends (May 31st, 2021). The school officer says that she cannot provide documents for visa cancellation simultaneously.

She says that I can resolve this issue (cancelling the visa) the next time I come back to Thailand. I heard that there are a lot of issues if one wants to come back later, when one doesn't cancel their visa before they leave the country. I am left with no choice. What's the worst thing that can happen to me next time I come back to Thailand having my Ed visa uncancelled? Thank you!

Hi, everyone, I want to cancel my ED visa. I have school’s certificate letter, what other documents do I need?

In addition, how long will the Immigration Bureau give me a temporary stay after the visa is cancelled?

Thank you very much for your help🙏
