I agree Thailand is protecting itself for Thais but I disagree with you. Entirely about mindset. Many farangs succeed amazingly here. With the right mindset.

Just a thought - if you get 3 months holiday annually and paid well now, why don’t you guys stick it out there and stash a good “nest egg” of money for now… come every year for five years for three months and slowly build the future… when you’re both 50+, come to Thailand on the retirement visa and then start a business with a Thai you like & trust or offer music lessons for cash for example… there are ways you can go about things “under the table” or legally… I’m not advocating for illegally but there’s always loopholes in Thailand and lawyers to help etc… 🙏🙏 Definitely spend as much time as you can here before you really take the leap! Good luck! 🤞🌈 And ignore the rude ppl on your post - you learn to block out the bitter negative ex-pats 😁😁

for the visa you’ll likely need a bunch of photos from before, and a new fresh photoshoot in your place of residence together in thailand 🇹🇭🙏 we’ve had three photoshoots in our bedroom for my visa already lol… including officers coming to photograph us sitting on the bed … only people familiar with thailand won’t find it shocking 🤣🙏

My Thai husband and I needed to submit about five or six photos to get married at our local Amphoe in Ranong province. No communications or letters or anything, though. Then for my visa based on marriage to a Thai… well… that was a whole other level of photos and documentation 🤣😅🙏 Hope this helps.

I married my Thai partner 😁😉😍 But there are other visas likewise very cheap, just a lot of requirements & paperwork to get. Yes it is 1900 baht per year.

lol I can see you REALLY need to be right about this. Immigration themselves told me this 🤷‍♀️ I don’t need to argue. Have a nice day 🤣

actually, no. In Thailand, your history they see is connected to your current passport number.

Don’t do it. Do your visa stuff yourself. If you’re really gonna live here, most visas are like 1900 baht per year vs 100,000 from these mostly lawyer-crooks… and your local immigration likely won’t deal with you unless you get a new passport to clear yourself of the semi-legit stamps via the agency … & that new passport must be issued in your home country. Not an embassy. Your shady visa past from using an agency will follow you otherwise. And then you start visa process in Thailand from scratch. The legit way. I know because I’ve been there 😭 If you’re gonna live here, you need to know how the systems work and how to operate within them. Suck it up and learn how yourself 😊 empowering in the long run and saves you time and money, actually. Wish I had known. Learned the hard way haha 😆
