I am aware of most of the legal requirements for foreigners who want to marry a Thai woman and live in Thailand. My question is this. When an Australian marries or wants to marry a foreign woman and have her live in Australia, the Australian Government requires proof of communications between the couple, such as photos together, letters (snail mail - if still used), emails etc. Does the Thailand Government have any such requirements? I have done a little searching online and can't find anything to say that it's required.

Please note; while I do have a sense of humour, I won't tolerate comments that are negative towards marrying Thai women, ridiculing, or insulting. Those people, I will block without hesitation.

I tried to ask before, but I don't think I was direct enough about my ignorance or clear enough on my goals- so sorry for posting again but... here goes:

Finished my 1 year ed visa, returned to USA to do some work, wrapping that up and eager to return and get married. What visa do I use? I assume I go back as a tourist and then while there as a tourist work on transitioning to marriage... is that correct?

Hello everyone. Does an U.S. citizen need to notarize his copy of the passport if he wishes to marry a Thai citizen. I got the affirmation of freedom to marry stamped by the embassy, but I did not stamp the copy of the passport because I was told at the embassy that they were not sure if I needed it l. Yesterday, I tried to translate the documents into Thai, and I was told I had to come back to the embassy and get my passport certified.

Just completed my 60 day extension based on family/marriage at Chiang Mai Immigration. Was excellent service, the officer (women) was exceptional there. Kind, informative and smart. She told me to come backk closer to the end of my covid visa (expiration) to get more time. The day you apply is when the 60 days start (change of visa).

Needed:

-TM30

-Passport copies (info page, tm6, thai visas)

-Copy of wife's ID card and house book (tambien baan)

-Passport style Photo 4cm×6cm

-Copy of Marriage certificate and yearly up (**edit: only need original marriage certificates, no need to update)to date page kor 2 or 3 they call it.

That's it.

No family photos, no lease contract, no other miscellaneous documents. Definitely the best option for short extensions when married to a thai citizen.

Hi community,

I’ve read through a few posts but wanted to clarify a few things since I’m a woman foreigner seeking to marry a Thai male national. Currently I’m on the cv-19 extension and plan to extend again before November 26th, which will hopefully give me until January to sort all the paperwork out.

1. Do U.S. citizens need to provide a certified copy of our passports for the marriage paperwork for the amphur / embassy ?

2. Can I switch from the CV-19 extension to the non-immigrant O visa without leaving the country? As a woman, I do not need to show financial requirements, correct?

3. Does my Thai partner need to show any financial information? I’ve seen he needs to show information about our rental home when I go to apply for the marriage visa 1 year extension.

Thank you to everyone who responds to any of the questions. It’s hard to confirm some info since most online forums cater towards a male foreigner marrying a Thai woman.

Wishing you all the best. 🙏🏻

Could anyone let me know if they have heard of getting married by POA (power of attorney) in Thailand?

My Spanish lawyer (I’m a British National but a Spanish resident) tells me that this is possible, and I must be in Spain and the wife in Thailand in order to apply for her visa to join me in Spain.

Can’t find anything on internet

Thanks in advance 🙏
