When I entered Thailand on November 6, I was given a 60-day tourist stamp on arrival, but I’d really like to continue using my valid DTV visa.

Did you show them DTV visa upon entry ? What did they say ?

"Agents" are bribing. Also, the fact that bank official are incompentent and the guidance varies from branch to branch is not a scam.

Thirdly, is there a law/regulation prohibiting tourists from setting up a bank account ?
