there was no option "open a bank account" on the form when asking for the certificate. Hence my question

residence certificate? Can you elaborate? It's different to residence certificate to buy a vehicle or obtain a driver's licence.

1. passport expiry date, not length of passport validity.

Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your entry date.

@Johnny ******
depends on:

1. passport expiry date

2. purpose of stay

3. length of stay

4. record of past entries to Thailand

and in extreme cases, records of being denied entry/deported to/from third countries

There's nothing special about it. I got my driver's licence in less than 30 days via this route with METV.

I doubt this residential certificate will enable you to e.g. open a bank account as it clearly states on the letter that it is for the purpose of obtaining a driver's licence.

If e-Visa, I think you can enter if you have both passports and the e-visa paper

It's probably this itinerary but I don't undestand why it says self-transfer and why he has posted the screenshot of "Self-Transfer"

(which means that you have to collect your bags and check in with another airlines, meaning you have to clear border and security, 1.25h is a bit tight.
