Which soft power will refund you if you get rejected? It doesn't seem okay to me not to refund the course if you get rejected.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The topic discussed revolves around the refund policies of various soft power programs in Thailand when a visa application is rejected. Comments indicate that some providers may offer refunds if the visa rejection is solely due to paperwork issues, while others might not provide any refunds. The Discover Thailand program is noted to offer refunds under specific circumstances, although the extent of refunds can vary. Participants are advised to read the application conditions carefully and inquire directly with the soft power provider regarding their policies. Alternative suggestions include using credit cards for potential chargebacks if the visa is denied.

has a partial refund policy for 75% of it I believe if the embassy rejects the visa for the seminar courses. I'm not sure if they refund if the visa is just rejected in general for other causes.

Chargeback against an embassy? Good luck!

Анонимный участник 905 It doesn't matter if it's an embassy, a store or something else. If you submit the correct documents and record the process on video as proof that the documents are correct on your part, a chargeback can be easily obtained

Usually, the Visa payment system doesn’t even check anything up to $1000

What about reading the non-refundable conditions of your application first? Whether you obtain it or not, you are paying for the process, not the visa. This is clearly stated on each embassy's website, and these are the conditions you accept when making the payment.

Анонимный участник 905 so I can create, for example, a fraudulent website, write in small print that the client pays for the process but not the product/service and accept the money? Of course not, it doesn't work like that, the embassy cannot take money and refuse a visa if all the documents are correct.

just clarifying that I can understand "application fee" that sounds reasonable that it's for each time you apply (not telling you why you are not accepted is not reasonable in my opinion but it isn't what I'm talking about here), the main point is the schools that you sign up for 6 months program with, they will not refund you at all, now that is just not something I think is fair. If you don't attend the course, you should get at least the majority of your program fee back

my bank will definitely be able to do that, but I'd rather just go with a refundable program because I don't ever willingly pay to get headaches

Some will refund you if the rejection is based purely on the paperwork submitted for the soft power activity.

Soft power providers (private businesses) and DTV (the government) are not directly linked. They have no obligation to assist you if your application is denied that is your own responsibility. In fact, you are receiving a visa to participate in these programs, not the other way around. Some may offer support, while others may not. If you find this unacceptable, consider applying for a different visa.

people are rejected even when they meet the requirements, and they don't even tell you why, so it's actually unreasonable to Me to pay 30-50k baht for application and program, be rejected without explanation, and not receive any refund. Maybe you got used to putting money in the trash.

Anonymous participant In that case, don't choose the DTV. It is only for people participating in an activity long enough to qualify for a 5-year visa. You can use a tourist exemption to try the activity.

Read the conditions of application. You will definitely lose the application fee for the visa, but you will most probably get a refund for whatever course you are applying for

Ask them beforehand but most respectable gyms would refund if your DTV was refused and you wasn't attending the courses

Just remember, you can take the courses on any visa, or visa exempt entry. They are simply selling you classes. It is your requirement to stay here to take them. It's better to ask them how long before the time to use them expires. Can you use them next year, as an example.

some do but others claim their courses are tailored to get a DTV... It was the case of a gym who is rather small but claimed that had over 300+ people getting the DTV. Of course things are going to get more strict in the future but so far it seems working

there was another one last month, where the fee the person paid for the classes, was, after he got the DTV, only for the paperwork. The actual classes were not included, and they wanted more money to actually take the classes he thought he paid for.

I actually won't mind paying the "fees" to get the paperwork done but some schools have become greedy and charge 15k just for that... Wish I could find a cheaper one since I'm not really interested into muai thai
