TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about their application via Soft Power for a Muay Thai course, specifically if they would receive a confirmation call from HR contacts and whether they needed to provide proof of payment for the course or the visa. On your application for soft power, did you write down you're employed?

I applied in singapore for soft power (cooking), wrote down my employment details and then the embassy requested a letter from my HR that they give me permission to attend the cooking course. It baffled me and my HR team, but they wrote me a letter, literally stating "we give x permission to attend x cooking school". I submitted the documents and I think they were happy with it as they told me to come into the embassy to pay (this was last year when walk in was still a thing). I didn't end up going through with it as my plans changed.

A few months later, I reapplied in vietnam and wrote "unemployed" this time on my application. Approved without further questions

Anonymous participant 219 Singapore requires employment through soft power, some other embassies do not have this requirement.

yes, I supplied the salary slips and they still wanted permission from my HR. It wasn't the income that was the issue when I applied. It was very odd

Anonymous participant 219 I agree. Rules are so specific to each embassy. Very interesting. This group has been very useful to identify the specifics.

Have I got this correct? 1) You applied soft power? 2) They are asking for proof from the HR where you work you can be on workaytion for 6 month? BTW which Embassy is this?

Anonymous participant OK it seems a strange request if you are applying for soft power to have a letter from HR? Good luck with it.

Anonymous participant I am sorry, I am confused. It almost seems like a mistake on their end. I have seen cases where they ask for proof of income(s) when applying through soft power. But I have never heard of a case where they mention workaction. I would advise 2 courses of action:

1-Send them proof of income for the last 6 months.

2-Email to confirm that they understand that you applied through soft power and not workaction.

I would favor option 1 as I usually do not like to argue with government employees.
