Hi! anyone knows what obligations does the DTV have? I've heard you're supposed to report/register every 90 days or so for some of the other visas. Any insights on this? It seems like the info available is still quite murky. Thanks!
Answer summary
Visa holders, including those on a DTV visa, are required to report their stay every 90 days, which can be done in person or online after the first report. Additionally, a TM30 form must be filed within 24 hours of arrival at any accommodation; while hotels typically handle this, private landlords may not. If you fail to report and leave the country, your reporting requirement resets upon re-entry.

The first requirement is that a TM30 needs to be filed within 24 hours of arrival at any property you’re staying at (hotels usually do this for you without you realising, longer term residences, not so much) then on day 89 (your arrival day is day one) your 90 day report will be due. You can report that in person two weeks before the due date and up to one week after it.

A quick group search and you would get the info you require. And too say it's still quite murky 😂 it has been done for years.

Right, the 90-day report is required for all visa holders except LTR. You should also follow up with your landlord about the TM30, which must be updated whenever you change your address in Thailand. Hotels update it automatically, but private landlords are often less diligent, so you’ll need to ensure it’s done when you leave and return. TM30 is not your direct responsibility but it is requested to obtain some documents.

What if you do not report, leave the country, come back and on the next attempt to complete 90 days report, will you be fined for the previous failure to report?

@Marcin ******
depends if you were over 90 days. Says it right in the name.

I missed my 90 day first reporting and went yesterday to do it. Paid a fine of 2000thb. Next one will be set for when i leave the country and return again.

Anonymous participant 679 they put a stamp in the passport saying you paid the fine and also give you receipt.

do they put any stamp in your passport or they just give you a receipt ?

You may be fined when visiting immigration for documents or do your new 90 days. If you leave Thailand before reaching 90 days, the count resets.

For the 90 day reporting, yes. The 1st time in person and then online after. If you leave the country before then it resets when you return.

yes. And I prey on locked profiles that spread bs. You’re a prime candidate.

What a strange comment! I simply offer advice which is factual. No opinion at all. 90-day reports in Bangkok are easily done by mail. I acknowledged maybe CM it's not possible. Why has that triggered you?

Actually I thought

's response was reasonable and factual, but you said he was giving bad advice. Every immigration office has its own policies. I know many people in Bangkok prefer the mail option as it's easy and 100% effective.

thank you. A reasonable response.

Actually
@Jim *******
is correct. In Bangkok all 90-day reporting can be done by mail. Because of the inconsistency in the online reporting and because it's a wasted day to go to CW immigration, I've done every 90-day report by mail for about the last eight years. Works every time, even on first reports after having been out of the country.

In CM most probably, but again, I'm talking about Bangkok. Perhaps a small concession as the immigration office is a long way out for such a minor task

not factual. Bad advice. Google TM 30 reporting. For the country. No wonder people are confused.

1st has to be done in person. Fact.

that’s the problem with people looking for advice. They are those that think opinion is fact.

Possibly. I can only talk about Bangkok. Doesn't have to be done in person. I've always done by mail, much easier
