I don't think anyone minds about them taking their job seriously. The problems are when they ask for documents that have already been sent or documents that are impossible to obtain (e.g. home embassy verification of a business registration)

From reading similar stories on here, I think your best bet is to write exactly what it says on the authority section of your passport. No translations.

Although some people have still been rejected while doing that.

What is the recent processing time and required bank statement duration for a visa to Jakarta?

Applied on 13th May and still pending document check. I only submitted 1.5 months of bank statements. The latest I've seen approved is a 8th May submission, so possibly a few more days to go.

What should I enter for 'last port of embarkation' and 'vehicle number' when applying for a Thai visa from Laos?

I put Thailand as last port of embarkation, since that's where I flew to Indonesia from, just before applying for the visa. That's the standard meaning of the phrase, but who knows if immigration mean something else.
