How should I fill out the 'Place of issue' for my Polish passport issued in Jakarta when applying for a DTV visa in Hanoi?

EDIT: Just got approved! I have written exactly what was in my passport - this is what the embassy in HCMC told me to do (Hanoi embassy is hard to contact). 

Hey guys, I’m in Hanoi applying for DTV visa and have a problem with the  ‘Place of issue’ for my passport. I have a Polish passport that I got in Jakarta, and it says  ‘Authority’, which I assume is the same thing. 

The problem is that it only says (in Polish) ‘Consul in Jakarta’ and that’s it. I'm unsure whether I should write it as it is, translate it, or something else. I know people got rejected because of that issue. 

Btw, the embassy is not answering my emails 🙂 And the phone seems busy all the time.

I put exactly what was written in my passport (in German, not translated!, wouldn’t even make sense to anyone who doesn’t speak German but copied it anyway) and got accepted

I apply in Jakarta and my passport is issued in Lithuanian embassy in Helsinki. And it says in Lithuanian “Ambasada Helsinkyje” that’s what I put in application. Same I was doing when apply in Finland for tourist visas.

Place of issue: Poland. Is a bit confusing but you always need to write "nationality" of your passport in this kind of fields.

nope, you need to put exactly, letter by letter, what's written in the passport

was it your case? I also got my passport in another country, copy-pasted what it was written, and got the visa approved 🤷🏻

I’m also applying DTV in Hanoi. In my case, i got new pp in Bangkok and I’m Burmese. I exactly wrote as ‘Authority’ says which is ‘ME Bangkok’ [ME means Myanmar Embassy]. I currently passed documents check and still waiting in Pending Approval stage. I think its that okay. If it’s not okay, they will cancel due to biodata instead of rejection during the document checking stage.

From reading similar stories on here, I think your best bet is to write exactly what it says on the authority section of your passport. No translations.

Although some people have still been rejected while doing that.
