EDIT: Just got approved! I have written exactly what was in my passport - this is what the embassy in HCMC told me to do (Hanoi embassy is hard to contact).

Hey guys, I’m in Hanoi applying for DTV visa and have a problem with the ‘Place of issue’ for my passport. I have a Polish passport that I got in Jakarta, and it says ‘Authority’, which I assume is the same thing.

The problem is that it only says (in Polish) ‘Consul in Jakarta’ and that’s it. I'm unsure whether I should write it as it is, translate it, or something else. I know people got rejected because of that issue.

Btw, the embassy is not answering my emails 🙂 And the phone seems busy all the time.

Hi, i am planning to apply for dtv visa in hanoi as I read many people received their visa within 5 working days. Is that correct?

Also for bank statement, i have 500k baht in my bank account so would it be okay to just submit the latest bank account? I read their requirements on their website and they didn’t mention anything about holding for 3 months or 6 months bank statements. Can someone help me with this? Thank you!

Applied online at Vietnam.

Submitted on 9 April. Asked for extra documents last week. Until today 24 April still asking for additional documents like every page of my passport and extra passport photo.

My entry stamp is only valid till 7 May. What happens if it is not approved by 7 May? Anyone got into this situation before?

Hello,

I am going the medical route in Hanoi, do you think the following info will be enough?

- I got a medical certificate from an International Hospital in Bangkok, stating I need 10 physical therapy sessions until June 30th and that I will need to follow up within 3 months

- I got the 10 sessions booked already, so I got the slip for each.

I have around 550k baht on Revolut. I did the transfer a couple of days ago.

What do you think? Thanks

I also applied in Hanoi.

I submitted my application at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 3rd, and it was approved at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 9th.

The referenced post mentions that his documents and mine are almost identical—even the submission date. His description is accurate. However, I only submitted a bank certificate showing a balance of over 500,000 baht for the past three months.

If you think your documents might not be sufficient, even if you have a job, I recommend registering for Muay Thai. That’s why I signed up for a six-month course at Chiang Mai Muay Thai Fever.

Hi everyone.

I'll be finally going to hanoi for the DTV next week. I kept track of some earlier posts but just want to know how long does the whole DTV procedure in Hanoi take recently? Will 2 weeks be sufficient? I wanna have an estimate to book accommodations, don't want to fumble last minute. Thanks.

DTV E-Visa application SUCCESSFUL 🙌🏻

Place of issue: Hanoi

This story has a few ups and downs so I hope it might help some of you to plan better and avoid stupid (expensive) mistakes.

We are a family of 3. My husband applied first and me and our son got the visa through his.

The first thing that went wrong was that just a few days before we arrived in Hanoi, they switched to the E-Visa system. We had read that it was easier and faster in Hanoi compared to KL (that’s why we decided to come to Hanoi), but in the end, it took just as long, and we had to stay in Hanoi for 2 weeks instead of the 5 days we had planned… so that was the first setback.

My husband applied online, and they responded within 5 days. A stupid system error, an automatic reading of the passport, entered an incorrect middle name, and because of that, they canceled the visa. He had to reapply (and pay the fees again). A day later, his visa was approved.

That same day, we applied for mine and our son’s, and it took 5 business days to be granted, with nothing to add or correct (there was also a national holiday in the middle).

Important Documents for the family visa: notarized translation of the birth certificate and marriage certificate, a bank account in my name with 500,000 baht (different from the one my husband used).

Honestly, I didn’t know if a notarized translation was needed but I didn’t want to risk to get denied for that.

If we had known that you could only apply online, my husband would have come alone, and my son and I would have come once he had the visa.

We would have saved a lot on flights and hotel nights if we had done that.

Hope it helps!!

Good luck to all of you ☘️
