Yeah I thought gold might be OK as a liquid asset but no. I see their reasoning tho because gold and stocks can be worth noting in 24 hours rendering the applications using gold or stocks null n void
You and me both! But Ive been sat on my hands waiting so it better hurry up! Bought mine in 2022 and the guy who advised me said it would be back end of 2025 when it really goes. Everything he said has been spot give or take a month.
I dont think you will need a letter to prove that you work remotely as your payslips would confirm that anyway? So yeah screenshots should be OK. I can only go on what I have been told and as they are a well known business, they obviously wouldnt include any loopholes that may be available to manipulate. I know that if your platform(s) and students are all outside Thailand as is your salary then no problems from immigration will come your way
As for the tax, you are only eligble to pay tax in Thailand if you stay there over 180 days in one year. I dont know whether thats a calendar year that starts in January to December or whether it kicks in on the first day you enter until 364 days later.
Like I said Im only passing on the knowledge I have and would hate to give anyone incorrect info so anyone reading can come in and correct me at any point.
As long as you can show the payslips is what I was told. This has nothing to do with the 500K. Its 2 separate things and as far as Im aware you dont need to show a bank account where your payments go into, just that you are currently working online, so dont supply pay slips from 2023 for example as that wont wash, you need to be currently working online. Email your platform and ask them. I did that and they sent me mine but I havent worked online for a while as the pay is low for England
I dont like banks so my money is elsewhere and when I know I will apply I will make sure I have that amount in my account 3 months prior. I will then move to Vietnam, start online again activating my payslips and apply maybe a month or so after commencing teaching
Call me old fashioned but Id equip myself with a writing implement and something that could be written on. Lets say a pen and some paper to keep it simple
Then, make a list of everything you spend your money on. Look at the list and see if there is anything you could do without and hey presto, there's your answer
Siam Legal told me that I would need a current amount of payslips to show. Nothing was said about the amount of earnings. So from what I was told and from what you have said, you sound good to go.
