Advice from personal exp is get a Thai sim card, I get unlimited everything for around 500-600 baht a month

Health Insurance Id use a Thai based company for simplicity of being on the same time zone. If anything happens to you and you cannot contact your care company based in USA it may cause issues in emergencies

I usually pack things that I prefer that I cant find there or are way more expensive there, like razors and shaving gel. Obviously food is your own personal choice and I often take some items from home.

Buy your adaptors there. They have many different types in supermarkets. There is also a chain called MrDIY where you can buy tonnes of stuff like that. Something like the image below would cost around $15 in Thailand, obviously this is a UK adaptor

As for scams, there are plenty. Just work on the premise if you dont need something, dont allow anyone to grab you!

How did you get around the 500k in your bank for 6 months? Did they not bother insisting on that?

OK so I was told by my teaching platform they could supply e-slips for proof of payment but only that. As I havent worked on that platform I dont have current or up to date payslips so would be denied. MAYBE if you are currently teaching for them and you supplied the slips you would be successful.

Not sure if you are aware but the guidelines as I understand them if you are successful are that everything related must be outside Thailand. So the company you work for, the students you teach and the way you receive payment. So if its PayPal make sure your settings are set in a country outside Thailand as I made that error at 1 stage and it took me ages to rectify to access my wages!

Are you currently receiving a salary from the online company or have a contract?

If not you will not get the visa or at least that is what I was told. I work(ed) for 1 but havent for 3 years so I dont have up to date proof of working for them and was told I would be denied on that basis
