Hello. I’m a U.S. citizen in Thailand trying to get my dtv visa. I was planning on going to Cambodia for this. I need the 3 months 500k baht bank statements. Do they ask for proof of income, I am an investor/trader (stocks and crypto). Any advice would be appreciated

Approved in Manila.

US passport

-Applied via agent using Muay Thai soft power.

-Asked for additional documents the very next business day:

1. Proof of ongoing income. I have read other reports of Manila asking for proof of income from other applicants in this group. Note that this is in addition to the 3 months of statements showing 500k baht and that this is for a soft power Muay Thai app, not workcation. The embassy did not specify how much income they were looking for but apparently I met that threshold.

2. Proof of Muay Thai payment beyond the receipt (I provided a credit card statement showing the payment).

3. Thai translation of business registration for Muay Thai school.

-All documents submitted the same day they were requested. My visa agent also prepared a cover letter explaining my source of income.

-Approved after a total of 4 business days. No interview or further questions.

Overall a smooth process. My agent and Muay Thai provider were very helpful and responded quickly to questions and requests for additional documents. I used Siam Legal as the agent and FitFac as the Muay Thai provider for a 9 month course.

I’ll be applying for my DTV visa from HCMC today (Muay Thai). I am unemployed but I make money trading online, what should I send as proof of salary, or do I even have to?

Hi all, I'm new to this group and thought it would be best to ask about my situation directly as it's pretty specific, but might be able to help some people in the future (and hopefully isn't too redundant)...

I'm an American living in South Korea, planning to move to Thailand with the DTV. I have the 500K baht in my bank account, but currently I co-own a bar in Seoul. We just opened our new location after several months of downtime, so I have no real reportable income for the last 3+ months. I own an LLC in the US which holds ownership in the Korean bar - I've structured it this way because, while I do currently have a visa that allows me to be a co-owner / "employee" of my own bar, at some point my Korean visa will expire. Having my American LLC hold ownership allows legitimate ownership in perpetuity.

ANYWAY, the 500K baht is in my Korean bank account. As proof of income, I could use my LLC, which would write me a letter (to myself) explaining what I do, that I can work abroad in Thailand, etc. But even if it starts generating income from my bar this month, that would go into my business bank account, which is a Wise account - different from my Korean one.

All of this boils down to:

1. How strict do they tend to be about proof of consistent income from freelancers/self-employed applicants?

2. For the sake of the application, would it be better to position myself as a consultant/freelancer for the bar (operations, directions etc.) and invoice the bar from my LLC, rather than just state I'm an owner?

3. Should the bank account where I'm proving income be the same as the one where I have my 500K baht savings?

4. If yes to the above, would it be better to show my contract with my own bar co-owners, and my registration as an employee in Korea? Or better to accept payment to my LLC, then send it back to my Korean bank (forfeiting the expenses of that double exchange, obviously...)

I know this is quite complex, I'm curious if anyone has any (even slightly) similar experience, but any insight on how to approach the application process would be really appreciated.

Thank you all!

Hi everyone, I hold an Australian passport and I am in Thailand now. I hope to apply for the MT 5 year visa. Just want to ask a few questions if I may.

- I already have a rental lease for a private property. When I go out of the country to apply for the visa, let’s say December, should I submit the existing lease or change the start date to December and then submit it? Or maybe it’s better to obtain a proof from a hotel?

- Re occupation, is it better to say ‘unemployed’, so that they won’t ask for further evidence such as proof of income?

Many thanks.

Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on building my 500,000 baht balance on my account. I expect to have it before my application, but the 500,000 balance will only be there for a few weeks, probably before my application. I’ll be applying at the Vienna embassy. Do you have any experience with this?

I can provide six months of statements, and they’ll see my monthly income from my employer. It’ll be the same company that will provide a letter for “remote work approval” and a contract as well.

So, what do you think? Is it more important to have a 500,000 baht balance for three months straight, or is it okay to have an end balance of 500,000 baht gained over six months?

Another thing is, I have two accounts in the same bank. One is my personal account, and the other is my business account. I always have money in my business account and then move about 70% of that paycheck to my personal account. I do this because I pay my insurance and taxes from my business account and other expenses from my personal account.

When I show my statements, there will be a difference in the numbers on those accounts. Should I show them with some graphic that highlights those moments on my accounts or add some text in the PDF to explain everything?

Lastly, should I provide every bank statement in English? Has anyone used Google Image Translation for this?

Thank you for your responses.

My fear is that I will be required to go to an embassy in person:

I'm thinking of flying from Thailand to Danang to be in Vietnam while applying for the DTV.

If there are extra documents required, can I submit them electronically from anywhere in Vietnam?

I'm applying for a workation DTV. I don't yet have my own company, but I can show income coming in to my bank account.

How likely is it that I would need to travel to an embassy?

Need to confirm process for getting my FIRST one year extension after entering on a

non-o 90 day e-visa obtained in my country. I have a Thai bank account and will have 12 months of 65,000 THB entered monthly into the account from outside Thailand.

Hear that this will not be accepted for the first year extension but must have the 800,000 THB for the required 2mo-3mo deposit.

Please advise. Thanks
