Initially I tried to start my retirement visa process while in Thailand. I figured it would be easier. I was also told it would be easier. I finally gave up and applied for the non o when I got back home. Then came back and did my extension.

It's concerning, but make your plans, buy your ticket. That's what I had to do.

I've been in Thailand for 3+ years now. Have never used an agent for my visa extensions, bank account, Thai Driver's license, 90 day reports, etc. Not necessary.

You don't need to show 12 months on your initial visa extension. I'm just trying to be helpful and answer your questions bud. You seem to want to argue each point. Good luck to you.

That's why I said you need to look into this yourself. You can open your bank account after you obtain a non o retirement visa as far as I know. It's always been done that way. Obviously you have to be in country to open the bank account.

You need to look this up independently. If you solely rely on answers on Facebook you will definitely wind up wasting time.

I'm aware of what they require. But the term proof of funds doesn't specifically mean cash.

I'm talking about the story being BS. There's more to it than what's being told. I've been allowed to go to an ATM at BKK and in Laos. A person can log onto their bank account with their phone and show proof of funds. This traveler must have looked like a vagrant or had multiple recent entry stamps. She was probably gonna be denied entry regardless.
